Disneyland to Target - distance?

I see there's a Target not too far from DL (around Harbor Blvd and Chapman Avenue). Two questions:

1. Is this a walkable distance? How long of a walk would you guess (from Tropicana Inn - so essentially from the DLR entrance)? I guess I could always take a cab if it's too far to walk.

2. Does Target sell food/grocery items? (I am Canadian, so I have no idea!)

Thanks!

The Target on Harbor and Chapman is too far to walk. Driving google maps puts it at 9 min, walking it says 31 minutes (so I guess it is doable, but thats an hour of just walking).

I am not sure about what it sells- we went to the Vons grocery store (safeway to us in the pacific nw:) down the street. Driving that is only 6 min, but 39 min walking (due to not being able to pedestrian walk on some of the roads it shows I think).

That info was all off google maps, with the beginning address of your hotel. Hope that helps!

We stayed at the Tropicana just last week and went to that Target. It would be a bit too far to walk, especially if you had arms full of bags. It does have grocery items, but it is not a full grocery store with fresh fruit, bakery, etc. Enjoy! We did!!

That does help, thank you! I definitely don't want to walk for 1/2 hour just to get there. I might do a cab then. Good to know about the Vons grocery store, I might have to try them too (we have Safeway here too, so I am familiar with them at least!)

Thank you, that helps too. I really was wanting to buy mostly baked goods, fruit, etc. so I'm glad to know in advance that Target won't have this stuff.

I agree with PP. It is not really walkable. We've stayed many times at the Embassy suites south which is across the road and a block up and we have never considered walking from there (and we are generally walkers). I think it would be more than 31 minutes actually.

You could take the ART there and just get off at one of the hotels. There are also a lot of good options for restaurants down there (Buca de Beppo, Joe's Crab Shack, etc) if you wanted to combine it with a non-Disney meal.

The Target does have grocery items, but not as many as other Targets I've seen. It isn't a full grocery with produce, etc. They have aisles of packaged goods like cereal, bread, cookies and refrigerated items like milk, juice, water, yogurt, eggs etc. We usually find it worth going there and pick up a few things.

:) Vons also has a delivery service. The minimum order is $50 (but that can add up fast), and your first delivery is free. You order online ahead of time (vons.com) and pay when you order

There are two available on Harbor... The one south by Chapman has been mentioned but there is also one north on the corner of Orangethorpe and Harbor... The one south has little else around it, the one north has a lot of other shops including a Food for Less... Both can be reached by the number 43 bus.. If it were me I would head north, neither are really walkable...

Do you know if all hotels in the area would allow a delivery before we check in?? We will be staying @ the Fairfield...

Thanks!

I'm not sure of Fairfield's policy as I've never stayed there, but I believe most hotels will sign for your order (as long as there is no alcohol included the order ?), if you're not there. Some hotels will put your perishables in the fridge until you arrive. I'd check with your hotel regarding their specific policy. Maybe someone who's had a recent delivery there can help out with an answer.

Wow, lots of great info here, thanks so much everyone. I would definitely be willing to take the bus as I wouldn't be buying too much (and it prevents me from buying a whole ton of stuff anyway ;)).

The grocery delivery service sounds super, but I really don't think I'd be spending $50. We'll only be there for 5 days. I will look into it though, because it would be so fab to have groceries waiting for us when we get to our hotel!

Still want to visit Target though, so I can buy some of these famous Target nursing tanks that I hear so much about, and that we can't get in Canada!!

Good info, when we took a cab to a mall it was really expensive! Like $25.00 each way I was not too happy but already committed! I would do the bus for sure. There is a Walmart nearby also! Walmart had a lot of Disney souvenirs too!

I have a Target right down the street but still had to buy my nursing tanks online. Of course I live in a much smaller town then Anaheim, so that may make a difference. If you go online to Target it should allow you to put in the zip code for Anaheim and tell you if they have them in-store.

Oh thanks so much, I will definitely check them out!
