Last time I went to to Disneyland was during Halloween time 2010. Since then I've been wanting to go back. But my questions are these....

When is the best time to go? (Like year, season)

What day is the best day to go? (weekday or weekend)

What is better to do meet the characters first or go on the rides first?

What's the best first ride to go on first (as far as not waiting in long for LONG hours)?

What about meeting characters (as far as not waiting in LONG lines for LONG hours)?

Whats better to get a photo with the characters or just an autograph or both?

if you don't like crowds, one of the best times to go is mid-January. also the parks are less crowded on weekdays.

in DCA, I would say try to get in line or get a FP for Radiator Springs first.
in DL, I would say either Indiana Jones or Peter Pan would be two of the first ones to get in line for.

Check out the stickies, they are packed full with important information and are awesome!

The best time of year depends on what you want. Slower park times for crowds also mean more rides will likely be closed for refurb and and entertainment schedules will be reduced. What type of weather do you like? Warm, or cooler?

I agree that if you read the stickies you will get a lot of great information. :)

Anytime! Really, each season has it's negatives and positives. I love late weekday nights during the peak season, being able to sleep in during the low season. You'll have fewer refurbs during the peak season, generally speaking.

Weekday - Tues, Wed, Thurs. Weekend - Saturday.

It depends on what's important to you. We often do rides first and M&G in the afternoon (because lines are long everywhere by then). But, we also occasionally meet the fairies right away, have walked up to meet Merida in the early morning and love being at Toontown when it opens (an hour after park opening - so you can do rides first and then still have short character lines).

Peter Pan

Just like rides, mornings are generally the best times for short character lines. You just have to decide what is important to you.

Both! You've waited in the line, ALWAYS get a photo and get an autograph if you're so inclined!
