I found some one-off posts on Marriott Newport Coast Villas Timeshare when visiting Disneyland and wanted to see if there are other comments, feedback, etc on Newport Coast Villas or other Timeshare alternatives in the Disneyland area.

We recently stayed at the Marriott Newport Coast property (our 3rd visit there). My SIL had researched the history of the property and found out that in the 90's it was going to be developed as a DVC property with an Italian villa theme. Look up Marriott Newport Coast History to see an article in Yesterland.
We've stayed at Marriott Newport Coast Villas several times and once we went for a day to DL. We thought "it's only a 30 minute drive to DL so we should be fine starting at 7:00 to get there for opening". But you also need to allow another 30 min for parking and getting to the front gate.

We stay at Worldmark Anaheim sometimes. It's about a mile from DLR. They have somewhat recently done a refurb and did a great job - enjoyable. My parents have Worldmark points - their practices are terrible some places but are not bad here from what I've experienced. Of course... I prefer Grand Cal but hey :-).

Been a while since I stayed at Newport Coast Villas. I'm sure Marriott does a great job maintaining them. Some of the villas have a stunning view of the coast and Santa Catalina Island.

IMO, it's a great location for a day or 2 at DL and then splitting time with San Diego and maybe Laguna Beach.

But too long of a drive for a trip that is focused on DL / LA.
