Hi,

Would anyone know where I might be able to find vintage Disneyland park maps and/or tickets from 1955? I've searched eBay, but there wasn't as much listed as I thought there might be. Are the tickets and park maps from the opening year going to be really hard to find? I'd prefer to find items that are *not* necessarily in pristine condition as I'm not wanting to spend a fortune on these. Does anyone have any online resources for finding such collectibles? Might there be reproductions available? Any help anyone can provide would be most appreciated.

Thanks!
Amy

The souvenir maps didn't begin until 1958, but some of the early guide brochures had small maps without the detail of the big ones that were sold later. Expect to pay a couple of hundred for the folded '58 map. Much, much more for a rolled one.

Early tickets shouldn't be that hard to find, but complete unused books will be a bit pricey.

I think eBay is still your best bet, just have some patience. Disney is not "hot" on eBay right now so bid high at the last minute. Any hard to find Disneyland items will still have multiple bidders.

You may want to attend the NFFC Show & Sale in July in Anaheim. Never know what you'll find, but there is a lot to see, and you'll always find something you've never seen before.

I'm not aware of any on-line sites that will offer instant gratification to your search.

Thank you so much for the wonderful advice. I did a little more searching myself and came across the book The Disney Treasures at Amazon. For what I'm wanting to use the map and tickets for, I think the reproductions in the book will be just fine. I don't want to spend a couple hundred dollars on something I'm not aquiring for a collection (not yet anyways!); I'd rather let someone who really wants it for their collection to get it. ;-) Anyways, I appreciate your advice!

By the way, what is the NFFC Show & Sale? I'm in Northern California, but perhaps if we're in Southern California when the sale is going on it might be worth visiting.

Thanks again,
Amy

If you go to http://www.nffc.org/ you will find out about the NFFC and its events. I know there is a chapter in Northern California and you can also find out information about that in the site.

Thank you very much for providing the website address to the NFFC. I had no idea such an organization existed and that there were local chapters near us! I'll certainly be checking out their upcoming events!

Thanks again!
Amy
