Disneyland Studios Park Paris

Hi all.

What do we think of the Disneyland Studios park? Any favourite, must see attractions?

I'm gonna lead off by saying I wasn't HUGELY impressed with this one - I much preferred the main park - but I did go the first year it was open so perhaps things are better now.





I did enjoy the Studios tram tour - really enjoyed that one
however the Reign of Fire display was a bit of a damp squib Having gone on the ride a couple of times and the 'dragon' didn't flame at all. It was a bit of a let down :thewave:

So guys, what does anyone else think?

It pales in comparsion to the main park, but given its only been open a couple of years that's to be expected.

I don't like thrill rides so that immediately takes out the biggest WDS attraction in the Rock 'n' Rollercoaster.

I do like the Studio Tram Tour and althouth we didn't see flames in 2002 we did in 2003 and 2004.

I am a huge fan of the Studio 1 - I think they've done an awesome job with the decor and lighting and I can't help taking many a photo every time we are in there.

Cinemagique and animagique are 'must see' shows for me but Armageddon I can do without. The parade is fun and you can get really close to the floats.

The rest I'll see if we have lenty of time but we don't tend to spend more than half a day in WDS.

I really did like Studio 1 too. I had my dinner in there and watched the performers, which was nice.

I'm going back in October so I am hoping that I can review my opinion. I enjoyed my trip overall. Fortunately we don't spend as long in WDS as in the main park so no one gets bored.

I thought the parade was good too. There's plenty of scope for development.

I thought it was a good complement to the main park. It is nice to be able to sit down on so many attractions. When we left, we weren't dead tired!

You aren't wrong there! Someone told me you go into the park and just walk until your legs are two inches shorter!

The best thing there has to be the car stunt show. It really is very goo. So good that it is going to be at WD Studios at Orlando next year. I was really impressed by this show.

I really enjoyed the studios, it is not yet near the standard of the wdw park, but there is plenty of time for development!! It is in my opinion more of an adult park as it lacks attractions for the very young but it is a refreshing change after a couple of days in the far more hectic main park. Of course the main park is my favourite but the studios has some great attractions. I loved animagique, the parade is great and studio 1 is great to just enjoy the atmosphere!!

I tend to agree that there is less for the tinies in the Studios Park and it does make a nice change. I went on the Tram ride half a dozen times or more and really enjoyed the atmosphere in Studio 1. I just felt there was something lacking although I still couldn't say what.

The parade was fab, that's for sure but you would expect nothing less from Disney.

Actually, perhaps it is just me with this problem, but I found in both parks that I missed such a lot largely because entrances to some of the rides and attractions were hidden away. I didn't realise, for example that you could 'go' on the Nautilus thingy in the main park or that there was a 'storybook ride' Perhaps I didn't walk far enough.

Definitely agree about the ride entrance thingy...I still haven't found the nautillus yet and I've visited a fair few times. I don't know why but I find WDW so much easier to 'find things'! Then again it is fun when you find something new. I think the storybook thing may be the Casey Jr train in fantasy land. Quite cute but in my opinion not a must see, give me 'its a small world any day'.

For the Nautilus entrance look for this small building:

The entrance in is just rund to the right of the building shown in the piccie.

It's not the greatest attraction in DLRP but it's a nice gentle walk-through and its not usually very busy.

Thanks yet again dlpSteve. Somehow the maps aren't that helpful for finding the entrances to things, I found.

I'm hoping to be more organised this year when I go so I have some kind of plan in mind. It might help save my little leggies!

the ride I meant was the Comte de pays de fee - I think that's the proper title. It is apparently towards the back end of Fantasy Land. I completely missed it when I went before. It's a boat ride round storybook lands and includes two scenes from Beauty and the Beast if all I have heard is true. B & B is my favourite film and there is so liitle to do with B & B in any of the shops or whathaveyou, that I was disappointed to miss this one.

a boat ride that sounds fun!! my last trip was over new year and the one before was just before Xmas the year before. I have never seen a boat ride, I wonder if its a seasonal thing? Will have to get myself back over there to have a look. There were little scenes on the train thing, told one was a minature beauty and beast castle and one was Eric (little mermaids) castle, dont quote me on that one though!!

Cant believe I could keep missing a fleet of boats, I think i'll ask a CM next time I'm over

The Storybook ride is closed in the 'off season' so that maybe a reason for not seeing it.

It's just before Casey Junior after you have walked down past the non-working windmill attraction.

If you have been in Christmas it's just past the area where they have the Beauty and the Beast mini-show.

If it's open you will see a circular platfrom which revolves and you step off of that into the little boats. It's a great little ride with scenes from many films - Belle's Village is indeed one of the highlights of the ride .

That would have been the storybook ride you saw. I gather from what I have heard that it is prone to being shut unexpectedly which is a shame. I missed it completely last time but I'm going to make a point of looking it out when I go in October. According to the park map I got last time it is right at the back of Fantasy Land which is probably why we both missed it. It isn't scheduled to be closed when I'm there but who knows!!!

It is subject to 'seasonal closure' which could well include October - not found any exact info. yet on those dates. It was closed in Nov and Dec when we have been before.
