Just needed to vent.........once I am done I am sure I will be fine!!!

Ok, so was just starting to get used to the idea that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be closed when we get to Disneylnd in October. I understand that refurbs need to take place to keep things safe and for the general upkeep.

Also closed at this time are the Storybook Land Canal Boats and the Casey Junior Circus Train...........again, I undertsand they have to be closed some time.

And Alice In Wonderland is closing to have some safety rails fixed etc...................ok, I get that too.

BUT, the news I heard today has made me quite sad. Indiana Jones will be closed the WHOLE time we are there...........I just can't imaginea visit to Disneyland without it.:sad1:

I am sure I will get over it and I know we have Carsland to look forward too, but Disneyland is my happy place and to do without not one, but 2 big rides is going to have an impact.

Plus, they are both fastpass attractions, so am wondering if this will have an impact across the rest of the park.

Ho Hum.................:sad2:

But, I am going to Disneyland after all and that can't be half bad!!!!!:goodvibes

I don't look at ride closures because I don't want to be sad LOL

We'll just go and hope for the best :rotfl2:

Awww. That's sad so many rides are closed. But you'll be at Disney!!! :cheer2:

You'll still have fun. And just think....less queue time = more shopping time.

That's alot of big rides closed at the same time isn't it. What a shame. Just eat a Mickey Icecream bar and you'll feel better. :)

I knew I could count on my fellow DISboarders to cheer me up:)

More shopping, more time on the Mansion AND Carsland so life is good!!!

And, I will just have to go back again to catch up on the rides we miss:thumbsup2:cool1:

Argh!!! Two closures didn't bother me too much because the odds are some will be shut in the lower seasons. Even three I was starting to cope with...

But now FIVE! What a way to start a first trip to DL :(

Alice cuts me big time because it is my second favourite Disney movie ever :sad1:

Hopfully one or two of the smaller refurbs finish ealier then expected and we can do them just before we leave...

sometimes they do rush thru the refurbs....so fingers crossed:thumbsup2

Yeah our first trip as adults jungle cruise was supposed to be closed the whole time (among some other rides), but it opened 2 days before we left :thumbsup2 Expect them to be closed so you're not disappointed, but you never know, they may open early

It gives you a good excuse to return later. You can't have everyone happy. Of course closures and refurbs will happen sometime during the year, it's just unlucky that they'll be done whilst you are there. They have to be done whilst *someone* is there. We missed IASW, GRR and Splash. But life goes on. There are plenty of other attractions to see and do. And as I said, just another excuse to return later ;)

Just checking, are all these confirmed closures? Quite often people will say they are closed and rumours will be made but nothing is truth until Disney comes out and says it themselves.

Hang on before we all descend into anxiousness. We don't have any confirmation about Indy, Thunder and Alice YET. We have rumours but nothing confirmed. These refurbs can either be pushed back or altered. Lets wait and see.

They may very well happen but if they don't, it's a waste of anxious energy.

Now there are some very wise words!

The only 2 that have been officially confirmed on the Disneyland website at this stage are Casey Jnr and Storybook land. Fingers crossed as you could be right ( and boy I hope you are!!! ) about rumours and date changes etc.

So,I have come to accept the fact that if there are closures, it will be something I will have to look forward to next trip. After all, I am going to get to do things on this trip that I haven't done before..........Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness and Mickey's Halloween party to name two!

So, I will be good now and not worry until I have it confirmed by the officials!!!:thumbsup2

We'll be going to Disneyland at the time of the rumoured refurbs too. But there's nothing I can do about it if they are, in fact, down. Can't move my trip, can't alter my dates, it just is. So I'm going to have to accept it if Disney makes an announcement. But that's ok because none of the closures are in my control. If I can't control it then there's no use me worrying about it - if I was upset all it would do is create a pointless bad mood about an experience which is supposed to be happy. I'm not going to let that spoil my holiday. Other things are open and we're going to have a great time!

When we went last year potc and btmrr were down and there were no fireworks scheduled... It sucked but we still had fun. I know that you will have an amazing time and you will just have to go back next year to see the rides you missed!!!

Indy is official though its not on the calendar yet :confused3

Hopefully BTMR closes for refurb when Indy opens in Dec :thumbsup2 makes sense not to have too many rides down at once even though refurbs do need to take place.

The Mark Twain riverboat is also showing up on the 25th of September as closed for refurb, what would be happening there? Maybe just down for the day?

Oh well, Indy is in need of some TLC. It does break down quite a bit and some of the major parts are not working at the moment. And, it means we will just have to ride it extra next time!!!

I have had some semi good news today ( fingers crossed ) that Thunder Mountain is not closing until January next year..........that would be great!!! I got that news from someone who is in the park weekly, used to be a cast member, and knows the right people to ask;)

Will just have to keep an eye out on the calendar re the Mark Twain. I can't quite understand why Indy isn't listed on the calendar...........maybe they just haven't updated it yet!!!!

I know how you feel, we will miss Indy too, my husband is disappointed on that one as it's his favourite. And I'm disappointed about Casey Jr - it was down our first trip too, then 2nd trip I didn't go on it, and it's my mission to go on everything - oh well, I'll just have to organise another trip after this one!

I'm consoling myself with thoughts of Carsland too, and really hoping they do hold off on BTMRR until January.

Indy is annoying as it's unique to Disneyland but I'll manage I'm sure. I'll get my other half to roll rocks down the driveway and I can avoid them in my car (unless it gets hit by a rock and then said car will also being going in for a refurb).
