What are the cheapest rates you've ever found at the Disneyland Resort Hotels (Disneyland Hotel, Grand Californian, or Disney's Paradise Pier) during the off-season? It would be nice to stay at one of these hotels, but I can't afford the $200 (or higher) rates that I always see advertised. Are there ever good deals to be had at these hotels, and if so, how do you get them and how good are the deals?

You won't find them way below $200, never as cheap as the places across the parks and on Harbor.

When you goto disneyland.com and put the cusror or tickets & packages check the special offers in the drop down list.

Discounts are usually greater on the GCH and less on DLH and PPH, but the regular prices are inversely higher.

We got Paradise Pier for $ 129 pre-tax last year. That was through Expedia. The cheapest this year I've seen was around $ 160.

But offers like that are far and few inbetween.

I have a room at PP in December for around $575 before taxes for 3 nights (W-Sat).

The cheapest price I have seen on the AP website goes around $160 for PPH.

I have booked at the PPH for $129.00 with the annual pass discount. But, don't forget then you have the resort fee's and parking, and the Anaheim bed tax. So many of the hotels on Harbor do not charge for parking. :tink:

Though in 2011 there is no longer a resort fee, just a parking fee if you have a vehicle ($15/day). And of course, taxes, which are going to be a certain percentage no matter where you stay.

But didn't the "resort" fee of $12 include parking? I don't remember ever paying parking AND a resort fee....so it really is an increase, not a decrease, unless you don't have a car, in which case you do get a nice little decrease. :goodvibes

OP, it is one of the reasons we stopped staying on-site - it just got too expensive, even when I saw a good AP rate....we've had anywhere from $139 at PPH to $159 at DLH (haven't stayed at GCH in years).

Yes, the resort fee includes parking now. So it is a decrease if you're not parking.

I am wondering if they're going to start charging for internet too. Didn't think to ask about that one.

How much is "well under $200"? Even $150 to $200 is a lot per night when there are places on Harbor Blvd for under $100, and are a shorter walking distance.

I think you will ALWAYS find a better deal by staying on Harbor. Usually we stay at BWPPI which is at the crosswalk and a shorter walk than any of the DLR hotels. I have stayed at Hojos and Candy Cane Inn as well. Once in a while we will treat ourselves and stay at a DLR hotel. This visit we will because we just bought APs, are staying the weekend and want extra magic mornings. Oh, and I was sent a PIN for 40% off. :)

How did you get the PIN...is that something you get with the Annual Pass?

A pin is sent to you in the mail. It is not related to an AP. Sometimes the deals are really good. I have an AP and have received no pin offers this season, while my parents have received 2 and have no AP. The pin is nonstransferable. The best way to increase your chances to receive a pin is to sign up for anything Disney related.

Not Disney related, but from the actual Disney corporation itself.

They can mail or email offers with the PINs. However these offers are not usually anything better than the specials on Disney websites or TV commercials.

Also special AP rates are not as much a gift to AP holders but a way for Disney to fill rooms with its already the most likely to return customers.

What Disneymum58 said is very true. Usually the top rate on Harbor is about 1/2 the DLH rate.
