We will be flying in and out of LAX and staying at the Anaheim Hilton. Is the Disneyland Resort Express a good choice for us to take? I am a bit concerned with our flight back home as it is an 8:00 a.m. flight. Would we get to the airport on time for that early of a flight? Also, is it true that the bus does not drop you off at your hotel, but at a bus stop? Do you have to go to the bus stop to take the bus back to the airport? Does anyone know where the stop would be for the Hilton?

I know it would be easier to get back and forth from Orange County, but the cost difference is quite a bit so it doesn't seem logical to do it.

Thanks for any help. This is our first trip to DLR so not really sure how everything works.

I'm guessing you're speaking about the Coach America, Grayline Shuttle, The Disneyland Express.

Their website,
http://graylineanaheim.com/airport_info.shtml

Says they start at 6:30 am, but it's only every hour until 10:30am, so being late might be problematic.

They used to have a list of the hotels they stopped at but now it says you need to call to get the schedule so here's the number (714) 978-8855.

Yes it does drop you off at a bus stop, however most times the stop is in front of the hotel, mine was about 5 feet away. And yes you have to be at the bus stop to get picked back up again.

The day before your flight you need to call and tell them what time to pick you up. Depending on the day you leave or go, the time it can take to get to and get from LAX can range from 45 min to an hour and a half with traffic.

You can see the stop (the green sign) from across the street, but not very well if you are on the street the sign is on. Just a bit of info.

I have not stayed at the Hilton, but when you call you can ask how far away the stop is from the hotel or if it is in front.

Hope that helps, have a great trip!

Interesting - this is a link to their 2008 brochure, with routes and times, including the Anaheim Hilton, but it looks like things have changed for 2009, presumably due to the current economy.

The busses start running around 4:30AM, with the first departure from DLH at 5:00 AM. When you arrive to LAX, your first stop will be at the DLH and the bus will deliver passengers to their respective destinations from that point. When you leave, you will board at your hotel and then be taken to the DLH. You might stay on the same bus or you might be placed on a different one at that point. Either way, that first departure of 5AM from DLH will leave you plenty of time to get to LAX. If you have any questions about pickup locations for your return trip I would call your hotel. The lobby staff will know where and when the bus arrives and departs.

One more note...the 2009 prices have gone up $3 from 2008. Check out the coupon on mousesavers if you have not already done so.

Thanks for the help.

Is this a faster way than using Super Shuttle? Last time we flew into LAX it was to go on a cruise and we used Super Shuttle. It was reliable and convenient, but we only went to the hotel in Long Beach, then back to the airport from the cruise terminal. There were no stops in between because everyone in our van were going to hotels in Long Beach and we were the first hotel stop and from the cruise terminal we went straight to the airport. I just don't know if we would have to make several stops on our way to anaheim.

I can't speak to the difference between the SuperShuttle and the Disney Express. However, here's how the Express is scheduled: Let's say you get on the Express at 12:00PM at LAX. The first scheduled stop would be 1:00PM at the DLH. The next stops are scheduled for 1:15 PM at PPH and the GCH along with some others in very close proximity to the park. The next scheduled stops on the route would be 1:30 PM for another set of hotels and then 1:45PM at a final set. On the way back, if you have a 6:00 departure time from DLH, that route begins making its rounds at 5:15 to the most distant hotels, and then 5:30, 5:45, and finally 6:00 at the DLH.
