Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

I have theme park tickets linked in the app, but don't live in California. I got this email:

After being closed for more than one year, magic is finally returning to the Disneyland Resort theme parks on April 30. I have tickets linked to my app but not on the site. When I go to link them, it says they are linked to another account. Is this the same problem you guys are having? My hotel stays show on the site, but not the app.

Yes, that is the same for me also.
Interesting! So they are using the address associated with the account. When I logged into my account it did say they had added that I was a Northern California resident. I don’t know how long it’s been there, but was wondering if it had to do with this.

Interesting! Mine had always just said "California resident". Never specified NorCal.

Also no email at all here yet :confused3

EDIT: Mine still says just California and I'm still missing that I'm a Visa card holder on mine :rotfl:
 

I was able to confirm with a castmember a while back that if you have already linked the tickets to your account on the website or mobile then they are linked. She said they do not show on the app- they just don't. So if they are linked in your mobile app you can breathe and know that those tickets are associated with your account. For some reason the DL website only lists passes and not tickets🤷‍♀️
 
I received the email confirming that I am a current ticket holder, but my tickets have disappeared from the app and I can’t find the physical tickets to link them. I called customer service for the ticket numbers and they said that they can’t see them because I bought them at Vons. I can’t understand how one system knows I have tickets, but customer service can’t see them. They sent a message to IT and said they might appear on the 12th when the reservation system goes live, but I’m not holding out much hope that will happen. I also contacted Vons, but their system only shows cards purchased within the last 3 months. I’m really frustrated and heartbroken. I have been dreaming of using my remaining tickets for over a year now. Any suggestions on how to recover my tickets would be very welcome.

It does not help at all right now, but I always take a picture of the back of my tickets even after having them added to my app. I also screenshot tickets in my app as well as an extra precaution. I would do this for any future tickets.

I would keep looking high and low for the physical tickets and keep fingers crossed they show up as IT thinks they might on the 12th. Otherwise you've already done what I would have tried :(. I'm sorry I have no additional suggestions that would help right now.

The "brightside" is that tickets do disappear from the app. Try re-installing then logging in to the app. If it doesn't show up still, I wouldn't stress. Mine were off the app for months and then randomly showed up. I continued to try and re-link them but was told they were already linked. If you saw them linked in your app at one point, and they didn't expire/weren't used before lockdown last year, your tickets will be linked to your account. Per a DL castmember they should show up as eligible for reservations on the 12th.

You said remaining tickets...does that mean you’ve used some days on them? If so, that may be problem. The system may have recognized its more than 13 days from the time you initially used them and bounced them off, since they have to be used within 13 days of first use.

If the reason the remaining days weren’t being used, it may be worth calling back and seeing if Disney would reissue new ones for the remaining days. Otherwise, you’ve done what I think you can.

They were Southern CA 3 day park hoppers with no 13 day restriction. They were supposed to be used anytime between Jan and mid May. We used 2 days and linked them to the app so my husband didn’t think we needed the physical tickets anymore and thinks he threw them out😫. Customer service was unwilling to replace them since they were bought at Vons and they can’t see them on their end even though the agent said it was a known issue. I read them the email I received stating that I am a current ticket holder and they told me that email was sent to everyone. The message to IT was the only help they were willing to offer.
 
So, I'm out of state with a crazy Grand Californian DVC booking for late July that might be an overbooking, which would explain why it was available. I'd need to cancel this 31 days out to keep the points. I canceled a pretty awesome WDW booking to try out DL this summer.

Seems like the out of state restrictions should lift June 15, but the tickets would have to be bought 60 days out, when we don't know if out of state will be allowed. What a mess...

I am planning to go over the 4th of July week and intend to make my reservation at the earliest possible opportunity, which, I believe, will be May 4. The out-of state restriction won't have lifted at that time but, inasmuch as I anticipate that it will before we actually go, I'm going to go ahead and reserve.

Same situation (though tix purchased through UT) and plan here, @Winnowill. Tix show in the app, but no email received. Fingers crossed that the reservation system will allow us to make those reservations. We are going June 27.
 
Ok. So. We knew no parades or fireworks or shows. Distanced character “sightings” rather than meet and greets. Possibly some missing rides due to indoor restrictions. Reduced experiences overall... But...

The food limitations seem extreme. That’s a LOT of places closed, including several (like Hungry Bear) where you could sit and enjoy your meal with a nice view. Still no pickles, and lots of other missing treats!

Also... so many of the “little experiences” are out - no shooting gallery, Redwood Challenge Creek, Tom Sawyer Island, Sorcerer’s Workshop, etc... I understand “why,” but I didn’t necessarily expect ALL of those types of things to be closed...
Idk. There just doesn’t seem like that much to do/enjoy. We’ve done so many long, long park days and never got bored. There was always “one more FP” to use, “one more character” to go and meet, “one last show” to catch, “one more treat” to grab, so we’d stay for 12 hours when we’d meant to do four. I feel like when I actually see the list, I don’t know how much stamina we’ll have for “stand in this line for a ride, then walk over here and stand in this long line for a ride” without anything to break it up?

I knew it would be different, but I guess I didn’t realize quite how much was being stripped away. 😬😬😬

This is why we’ve decided to just do Knotts unless more things are open later in the summer.We’ve never done Knotts aside from the halloween and Christmas festivals during Covid, so we don’t know what we’re missing if things are closed. While I’m so happy Disneyland is opening, I think we’d be pretty disappointed at how different it feels and by now much is missing, especially given what they’re going to charge for a day pass.
 
Universal Hollywood tickets went on sale today for Californians. I just checked (10:30 here in California) and they were only sold out for 2 days 4/19 and 4/20. I know Disneyland is on a whole different level but this gives me hope we will all be able to get reservations next week :)

It looks to me like they're not open on the 19th and 20th, not that they are sold out. It says "park closed" and if you look at the hours it doesn't list any hours.

I'm with you. It gives me hope for being able to make a reservation for DL next week.

This was my same thought regarding WDW- I don't really know what I'm missing so it's okay. But a lot of those closed restaurants at Disneyland are some of our favorite traditions like Carnation Cafe and Cafe Orleans... Food is (apparently lol) a big deal to me.

I bet a lot of people are thinking the same thing, I hope that the calendar really doesn't stay filled up once they open to give them incentive to get everything else open... If it fills up for 60 days quickly then what's the incentive to open up more if people are willing to pay for less?

Unless they're also looking at that June 15th date as a goalpost for opening the rest up once more restrictions are lifted?

I'm staying positive that the amount of people that can make reservations on then12th aren't enough to fill up the available spots. So come the 15th they are plenty of spots open.
 
Sea World just announced reopening with rides April 12.

We are going to use the Waves of Honor tickets to go for free.
 
I had a surprise trip planned for my friend before Covid hit. I bought her a 3-day hopper which I linked in my app. I had an AP. I presume we would not be able to book a trip together until after the 15th since I don't have a ticket?
