Disneyland Rental Car issues, please help!

I'm trying to rent a car during our July DL trip. We need a car to get from the airport, which we are flying into Burbank, to our hotel that night.(July 20) Arrival day we are sightseeing around LA so we will really be using it. We don't need a car to get back to the airport, LAX, bc we are going to use Disneyland Express. I have been doing alot of research and the prices are outrageous for that day. I'm assuming it's bc we are picking up at the airport and then dropping off at anaheim. The cheapest I have found was $89 for a standard. This is through AVIS using costco discount code. On the AVIS website though it shows $119 but says discount has not been applied yet and that it will be applied when we pick up the car. Is that right??? I'm looking or any ideas on what we can do to save a bit as this is alot to me for a car for a day TIA!

It might be cheaper to use a shuttle both to and from the airport. The car rental places right by Disney are usually cheaper.

yeah, rentals where there's a "drop charge" are usually pricey.

I wonder if it's because it's the Burbank airport?? I rent my car in Santa Barbara -- one day and one way. I drop it off at the Avis on Katella. $28 in July.

I'd keep looking around.

Did you get a rate from National car? We have used them around California many times, and they never seem to charge a one way fee within California... They were super easy with pickup and dropoff as well...

Good luck finding a good deal though - one way fees are such a waste of good money

Two years ago we did the same thing but it was from John Wayne airport and the Downtown Disney Alamo. It ended up costing us about $90. I figured it was worth it to be able to go to Huntington Beach and very convenient to drop off. Good luck on your search!
