hi all! it's been a while but I know you will be the folks to inform me! I'm helping my adult daughter ( 20 y/o) plan a one day visit to DL on Sunday, Oct 8; while she is in CA visiting a friend. They are getting a park hopper and I'm considering buying the WOC dessert option for her group so that she has a place to sit during the show, and forces her to take a break ;) She will try her darndest to keep up! She has juvenile rhueumatoid arthritis and has had both ankles surgically fused. So standing is very hard on her. Is there any kind of options at DL for someone who wants to wait but has a medical need to be able to sit during the line time?

also, any DL experts here that can get me started on an touring order to limit her criss-crossing the parks would be appreciated!

TIA!

For mobility issues, the Disney response is to rent an ecv or wheelchair. If she has a rollator she can use that. Many of the queues at Disneyland are not mainstreamed, so she needs to pick up one of the specialty maps that will show which attractions she will enter from the exit.

Definitely get the specialty map that lists the attractions to enter through the exit. At those attractions they will give her a fastpass-type return time that basically holds her place in line. So, say Splash Mountain has a 45 minute wait, her ticket will be scanned and she will be told to come back to the exit in 45 minutes. Then she can go sit somewhere and wait or go shop or ride another ride. She cannot have more than one return time at a time and all of the members of her party can enter and exit with her. She does not have to have a scooter or wheelchair to use this access, I do not believe. This option is only in DL, not really DCA as those lines all accomodate wheelchairs and scooters.

I also would urge her to consider renting an ECV from the park (motorized scooter) or an outside rental company (they are more comfortable and faster but not as convenient for a one day trip). She may feel a little awkward with her group of friends at first, I did, but the ability to really keep up all day long makes a big difference in my enjoyment factor. Also, she can always park the scooter in a land, do a couple of rides/shops/etc. and then go back and get it so she is not glued to it for the whole day. If you are helping her out, maybe offer to get cover the ECV rental cost for her instead of WOC? Then she can sit on her scooter or a bench in the accessible area for the show. Best of luck!

We did the WoC dessert party, and I loved it. Highly recommend if it fits ones budget. Takes away so much stress.

Once I was able to get a seat on a bench near the back of the WoC section. They let my son in the area in his WC, they said I needed to stand, but when show began bench next to him was still empty so I got to sit.

any DL experts here that can get me started on an touring order to limit her criss-crossing the parks would be appreciated!

1) Walt Disney invented the crisscross and wheel-spoke pattern for theme parks.
2) This was deliberate and is a model for most parks since DL was built.
3) It is very effective for time management and guest experience.
4) For ease-of-movement, no =t so much.
50 You best bet, as mentioned above is to rent a wheelchair or ECV.

thank you ! everyone!! I will talk to her about renting a scooter for the day...I would def pay for it for her. I want her to have a great day! and I appreciate the tips guys!!
