Disneyland Proposal Idea Feedback

Hi everyone,
Haven't posted here before but was hoping to get some feedback on a wedding proposal idea. Obviously proposals happen all the time at Disneyland, so I was hoping to try to do something a little different. My girlfriend and I are current annual passholders and are down there about every 1-2 months (live outside the area). Our next trip will be July 4th, which is when I was planning to do it.

My original idea was to do it in a newly opened Club 33 as part of the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour which I currently have booked for the 4th (booked when I originally read it was to open July 2nd). Current rumors I have read are that it won't be ready till July 18th though, so I'm assuming that won't be a possibility.

My second and current thought was maybe to call up their wedding line and see about proposing in Walt's Apartment on the tour. I have two concerns on that idea though, first being that they say photography is not allowed and that to me it seems slightly creepy to be proposing to someone (a personal thing) in a place where Walt stayed with his family. Anyone else feel the same?

For anyone who has done the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour before, would any other location along the route maybe be a good location? Or is the way they run the tour maybe not a good time to do it in order to not disrupt its flow?

Alternately, I have dinner reservations at Napa Rose that night, but was hoping to try to do something a little different. Have looked around the web to see ideas but in general they seem to be standard locations.

Thanks for the help. :)

I'm sorry no one has answered your question.. Having been on the tour it is timed and they DO NOT let you linger anywhere.. I'm sure if you call the CM's will be more than happy to help you or assist you to make your proposal special.. ~lucky you for getting to go to club 33~ I have never been. :) I hope your proposal for you and your future fiancé is everything you are hoping for with a little disney magic sprinkled in!!

I haven't done the tour personally, but you can take photos in Walt's apartment...you are not allowed to take photos in the backstage areas you need to access in order to get to the apartment.
I personally think that Walt's Apartment would be a better proposal location than the lobby of Club 33.
If you are dining at Napa Rose, have you considered doing the Chef's Counter? Maybe they can help create a magical proposal?

Thanks plutosbuddie and Girimama33.

Will definitely be giving Disney a call at some point to inquire if even doing it on the tour is an option. Walt's Apartment maybe could still be an option I suppose.

In terms of Napa Rose, hadn't considered Chef's Counter. Sounds interesting.

More recent thoughts have also turned to the Paradise Pier waterfront, which is a favorite for us. Would be ideal during World of Color, but maybe could work if could plan it when they do those mini water shows the during the day. Still thinking about.

Thanks again both.

I think if you call and talk to the CM's maybe Walt's apartment could be an option. They do not allow photos, except for the photo the CM will take of you with your own camera in front of the famous window with the lamp. When I was on the tour, it was special CM's who take you into the apartment, not your tour guide. These CM's are in charge of the apartment and you could tell they take their job very seriously. I'm wondering if they might let you linger a bit and be willing to snap a couple extra photos of the proposal so it would be a little more private? I would call and ask. If not, I'm wondering if the tour guide could help you out somehow....maybe a ride in the Lilly Belle somehow? Doesn't hurt to ask. :goodvibes Please report back! So excited for you and congratulations!

Thanks crystal1313. Called them last week and they basically said I should talk to the tour people the day I arrive, which can make planning a little difficult but understandable. Will see how it goes though. Thanks again for the feedback.

In front of the castle!

Pretend like you want to take a picture in front of the castle and have the photopass photographer take pictures of you as you propose! I know it sounds a little cliche, but as a Disneyland freak my whole life, I can't imagine it any other way!

Wish you the best!
