My DH and I will be taking our 2nd trip to Disneyland this Sept. We were not as organized last time as I would like to be this time. We just kinda ate what was around when we got hungry and I feel like we missed out on some stuff. We will be there Sunday afternoon, all day Mon/Tues, and most of the day Wednesday just after Halloween Time starts.

So my DIS friends, what is a good ride plan for us? What places do we want to make sure we eat at? Any and all advice would be very helpful :)

Single rider line at RSR first thing (during whichever Early Entry day you have)

Trader Sam's for fun drinks

Carthay Circle for dinner

Steakhouse 55 for breakfast

Ghiradelli's for sharing an ice cream sundae

Maybe you should do ridemax to try to get the most amount of rides in?

ooooh thanks for posting this!! The hubs and I are going kidless for our trip in Sep-Oct and I am really curious about the best adult things to do too!! One tip I DO have for ya is that if you like to ride on Screamin, be sure to ask to ride in front together!!! Sometimes you have to wait a little longer, but is is SOOO worth it! WOWIE! Also, be sure to ride it at night after dark too, such a cool experience with everything all lit up! :thumbsup2

We don't have kids, so all of our trips are childless (at this point at least!).
We are super unorganized when we go, and do what we want when we want it, so I'm not sure how valid my opinion/advice will be:confused3

One thing we made sure to do was our Magic Morning (yes, I know it's early but there are no kids with you. You can do it!) In that first hour we got the matterhorn and all the fantasyland rides (all walk-ons) in that we wanted to do. Once was enough for us, and we didn't have to wait in a huge line.

The only other thing that we really planned was to eat at the Blue Bayou. It was a nice lunch that was out of the heat and was good just to enjoy each others company. Just make sure to get one or two reserved meals in your trip, you will love wherever you eat and it's almost like a "date" having reservations to eat somewhere nice.

Have fun!! :wizard:

I don't think you will need Ridemax, as you are going at a wonderful time of year! In addition to the great suggestions above:

Cafe Orleans (sitting outside by the Rivers of America... super romantic!)
Cove Bar (DCA) - Again the feel of sitting by a lake sipping cocktails and eating lobster nachos...romantic:)

Strolling along Main Street, listening to the Dapper Dans or the Disneyland Band, holding hands...so, well, you know....romantic:0:hug:

I don't think you really need Ridemax either. We have been a few times without the kids. Granted, even when we take the kids it's no biggee since they are in their young 20's. lol

We love lunch at Cafe Orleans. We split a Monte Cristo and some Pomme Frittes while watching the people and the ROA.

BB has been on our list but tends to get replaced by something else. It is on our list again this trip.

We really enjoyed drinks and lobster nachos at Cove bar too.

We're not usually in a hurry so we tend to take things slower. We ride as we see fit, and used to take advantage of EE before we got our AP's.

Great thread! My wife and I are going in December and dont have any kids either. We're going to hit up Blue Bayou and go to the Aladdin show to name a couple.

Now that the boys are in college we will be making more solo trips. This July it will be just DH and I.

Here are some of our plans for our DLR week:

Up at the crack of dawn everyday to make good use of park time.
SR line at RSR
Late WOC show
Lunch at CCT
Lunch at Cafe Orleans
Take afternoon naps
Spend an evening strolling around DTD and listening to the street muscians with a yummy pizza pretzel.
See the Voices of Liberty
See Billy Hill
Have ice cream for dinner
Drinks at Trader Sam's
And of course, make good use of FP collection

My husband and I went to DL last October for our First Anniversary, he had also never been to any Disney park, so it was doubly special.

We stayed at the Paradise Pier, and I booked an In-Room Celebration (Pics in my signature.)

Other things we did: Halloween Party on our first evening in the park.

Fantasmic! Dessert Seating on our second night.

WOC Dinner on our third night. We also got a bit tipsy at ElecTRONica, which was fun, my DH started talking in an Australian accent to everyone. It was pretty funny.

We also had a wonderful outdoor lunch at Cafe Orleans on our actual anniversary. (Blue Bayou was closed because of the Pirate's rehab)

And on our last evening there, we had dinner at Goofy's Kitchen.

We're leaving next week, and my DH requested both the WOC and Fantasmic! again. We're also gonna have breakfast with Minnie (I've done this before with friends, he hasn't) one day, and dinner at Ariel's Grotto. I've also got Blue Bayou ressies, and I am planning on Trader Sam's one evening.

If there is a Halloween party when you are there, I suggest going to that. And be sure you dress up! It's the only time adults are allowed to dress up in the parks. There are a million people there, mostly with kids, so you can schedule your party opposite the flow of traffic. For example, most families want to Trick-or-Treat and meet characters, so the lines for those are super long at the beginning. But if you go on rides to start, you'll have super short waits. Then, when the families start heading home, you can go Trick-or-Treat and see characters, and have a really short wait. It is so fun to get photos of yourself in costume on the rides, and to get a chance to meet some of the rarer characters!

The other thing I'd do is set aside my "see everything" checklist, at least for a day, and just do my favorites over and over again. Like ride Indy 6 times, and skip Alice in Wonderland, that kind of thing. I have a few Fantasyland favs, but for the most part, I can take them or leave them if my DD isn't there to appreciate the "magic". Have a great trip!
