Disneyland Photopass Questions!

So I'm trying to understand the Photopass thing at Disneyland. I understand the WDW version and have participated in multiple successful shares and hosted a family share over Thanksgiving. So I totally get how it works "over there" at WDW.

But as with many things... DL seems like an entirely different animal. I've read a couple of threads that mention you can't order the CD online or you will be charged $100 vs. $59 or something like that??? I'm just a little confused! At WDW - the best deal is to do the pre-order for the CD. But what do you do at DL? If you don't order online how do you do your fun edits and things??? Is there a separate DL photopass website that I've not found yet??

It's easy! There is ONE PP website for both DLR and WDW. You cannot do your fun edits on the pictures UNLESS you create an online PhotoPass account with your card # (when you get it). If you buy the CD while you are at DLR or buy separate prints at the park, you cannot get the fun edits. Do NOT try to pre-order a CD for DLR. IT wil be too much money and there is no point. Think about it - the reason WDW's PP CD is so costly is because there are 4 parks and 2 water parks with PP opportunities. SO to pre-order for WDW is a better deal because you can save money. DLR only has 2 parks for PP opportunites, and MAYBE one hotel PP location during Christmas, but that's it. So for the DLR CD, the best deal is to get the CD when you make your online account and edit your photos how you want them. You can turn 50 pictures into 500 if you edit them in different ways. The CD is $59.95 + $7.00 shipping for U.S. residents. I think international orders may be $17 for shipping (not sure). Anyway, if you are in the U.S, it will be $66.95 to order the CD, plus $19.95 for extra copies of the CD if you want them. You could technically pay $100 to pre-order the CD for DLR, but it would be a waste of $40.

OK... so if I have a photopass login already - do I have to make a new account once I get the number off my card the first day?

Or can I just use my regular photopass login and enter my card #'s from DL? Will the photopass website charge me the DL price as long as I'm only entering DL card numbers?

You do not NEED a separate account, and yes you should be charged the correct price.

BUT...I have created two accounts. One for DLR and one for our future WDW trip. I just figure...why confuse myself? Plus I like having an account with only DLR photopass card ID numbers in it (even though the pix are long gone, the ID numbers remain) so I can always go in and check on DLR prices for people. I'd lose that if I use the same account when we go to WDW.

So you might consider it, just so you don't have to worry about the WDW card ID numbers on your account messing things up. But I don't think it's necessary.
