Disneyland Pet Peeves!

This is probably not going to sound PC, but what I really dislike is when somebody cuts in front of you in line or shoves into the spot you have been saving for hours for a parade and then pretends they don't know English when you try to show them where the line begins. UGH! Once my daughter and I were standing in line in the beating sun to see a character and a woman with her children cut in front of me. I showed her the back of the line and told her that we had been waiting and she needed to go back to the end and wait her turn. Well, she pretended she didn't know what I was saying. I repeated it several times and she would just shrug like she had no idea what I was talking about. I KNEW she understood me. So I told her, in a very sweet voice and with a kind smile on my face, "If you don't get your *** to the back of the line, lady, I will accidentally spill my soda all over you and your kids." Guess what? She hauled her fanny to the back of the line in a great hurry. She absolutely knew what I was saying. Yeah, I know it wasn't very nice on my part, but neither was standing in line in the July sun for 10 minutes only to have this woman cut in front of me. It was the only time I ever got mad enough to say something to somebody at Disneyland, but omg I was tired of people cutting and using the "No speak English" line.

Whew! I feel better for having gotten that one off my chest! :rotfl:

lol i know what you mean!!!! or if they ask you "do you speak *insert language here*?" & you say "no..." then they continue on in perfect english!
"oh ok, well I was wondering where the restroom is?"
ughhh, this happens to me at work a lot too.

You know what really gets sand in my pants.......When so many people have thier cameras on in Pirates that thier screen glow illuminates the boat so much you can't focus your attention on the show.
yes!! recently i was seated behind a woman on IASW and the ENTIRE time she was snapping pics!!!you can't enjoy the ride if all your doing the whole time is snapping pics!! its also distracting for people behind her!! at least her flash was off....:sad2:

i know i have had that happen . they just look at you blankly and shrug the shoulders and "pretend" to not understand!!!! :sad2: and i have even been pushed out of my own are to watch fireworks cause a family of 25 wanted go be there! and they acted like they don't understand... :scared1:.. that really gets me!

I just discovered two new pet peeves after my trip last week:

1. Kids pushing strollers. Either ride in it or don't have it at all. I was nearly run over a few times by kids pushing empty strollers!

2. I saw a lady send her son (probably 7 or so) out of the line for Nemo very quickly. We looked to see what he was going after and it was his little sister (probably 18 months) who was over by Tomorrowland Terrace by herself. They were a part of a group with a few other adults. Why couldn't one of the adults gone after her instead of the 7 year old boy who struggled to pick her up and bring her back all while the mom watched from line! Ugg!

That really sunburns the part in my hair too....You take a kid that can't walk in a strait line and let him push a things that multiplies the space he takes up by sevenfold.

Let alone something they can't SEE over the top of......

it was mentioned in another thread i'm sure we coverd it but flash photography!

Grumpy people - if you aren't having fun, please leave the park. I hate hearing other argue about things, yell at each other or castmembers, etc. If there is one place that these types shouldn't exist, it should be anywhere Disney! :goodvibes Take a chill pill or have a cookie or something.

I most profusely agree with the above sentiment. And I further state if a nap or a cookie does not work, then try Vodka! (Well for anyone that is over 21 anyway :cool1:)

wendypooh22 <changing into my flame suit now>
I really hate those leash things. I know that people have their own reasons and I understand that but sometimes if your kid is already out of hand and doesn't listen, adding a leash just makes it worse! you have an out of control kid with a long rope attached.. I have had kids on a leash cut in front of us and we get tangled up with them..

Yes... and to that remember even if a puppy is on a leash, they can still nip you! Or worse. Ugh!

It never surprises what people will allow their kids to do for a picture...

Oh, I have a new pet peeve! I can't believe I forgot about this one...

Parents that let their kids yell inside of the Nemo Submarine!!! I spent a wonderful cruise next to Josh - a little boy of about 4 years that saw a SHARK, A DIVER, An EEL, DORI AND NEMO!! by the end of the ride, I was soo irritated and I commented to my kids about them using their inside voice on the sub, but apparently Josh's mom didn't get the hint. C'mon people, you are in an enclosed space.. Teach your kids to be respectful of the people around them..

Can we say does little ol' Josh care to see age 5? :thumbsup2 :rolleyes1:banana:

 Yes my 17 year old daughter got pretty close to needing a royal nappy nap the night we trucked all the way to the Hungry Bear and it was closed. I couldn't believe we were about to have "I need chicken nuggets now!" episode at her age.

hey i get the " i need a churro and a coke now" episodes!! rflol :lmao:

Hey even at my age (No not that old) I can get that way too. Especially if I am really hungry, or just must have something in particular or else..... :lmao:

^^^^ Ewww i totally agree, nothing screams disney more then seeing a make out section.

Well there is a smoking section. So maybe... a nicely hidden away (From me) area where one can cavort in that sort of manner, can go. Maybe not! ..... Security! And bring your dogs! ;) :lmao:

:thumbsup2

ohhh hands down, YES make out sessions!! that has to the nastiest thing ever to see..and umm with kids around ..kids don't need to be seeing that stuff. there is time and place for everything, and i understand that standing on the bridge at the castle is romantic, but it's not a lip-locking place! :)

Darn tooti'n! You go girl! :)

Just tell them it is a family place, not a family making place.

As for my pet peeves, haven't read the entire thread.

1. People that walk slow in groups of 4 or more side by side..
2. People that find it completely acceptable to stop in the middle of the walk way to figure out what they want to do next, those are usually the same folks in #1
3. People that take flash photos on dark rides.
4. People that try and get in front of you, after you have waited hours in that spot for a parade, F! etc (and no, I'm not that worried that your kid can't see, if it was that important that your kid be able to see, you would have gotten there an hour or two early just like I did)
5. People that will get there at the last moment and then put their kids on their shoulders right in front of you.... see #4

Ooh ohh you all are going to love this one… :lmao:

Saturday at the park (DCA) I heard a lady TELL her kid that the Grizzly bear Rock thing is matterhorn. Yep.. this is how it went down “ hey _____(kids name wont say) see that rock thing right there, that’s matterhorn”

And so that is the other thing, when other park guests get points of interest at DLR wrong!!:scared1:

That reminds me of when I am riding GGT from Sonoma County to San Francisco, and some one points out.... oh look... that is Alcatraz....

To which I say no actually that is San Quentin! (Dolts!) Hmmm lets see the differences. San Quentin is a fully operational State Prison, which was established in 1852 in Marin County. Complete with prisoners, tear gas, guns and riot gear. Not to mention all of the prison guards! And lethal injection.

Then there is Alcatraz Island.... it is a shut down Federal Penitentiary (1963), that was originally a military (Army) prison.
It is owned by GGNRA... which stands for Golden Gate National Recreational Association. They purchased the prison in 1972.

So please whatever you tourists do, please do not, I repeat do not confuse Alcatraz with San Quentin. Which reminds me.. when someone really ticks me off, I will ask them if they know the way to San Quentin. That always throws the annoying person off. Ha!

omg. girl your awesome!!!!!! :cheer2:

Sorry it's not very clear as I15. I was talking about I-15 the Escondido Freeway, it's like this somewhere were it comes in close to Downtown. Also I started to think that in a sense 163 crosses Balboa park like this too. Just in more of a natural valley than a concrete walled trench.

But you know what really snags my hoes
......When crowd control sets up freeways on the sidewalk before a show and someone suddenly stops to take a picture.

 :scared1: :rotfl2:
