Disneyland Pet Peeves!

i really wanted to correct them and give them a map and you know just correct them..but i just walked away... and held my tongue!!

HAH! I was actually thinking about posting a new thread asking about whether or not you bite your tongue when you hear off-the-wall comments. When I went to the parks a few weeks ago, I was in line for POTC and the woman in front of me was talking to her friend who hadn't been to the parks in many years. She was telling her friend about how much she will enjoy the "new" Pirates, now that it was in 3D... 3D!?!?! What does that even mean!?!?!?

Oh, I forgot one of my favorites. For those of you changing diapers in the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure: throw away the diapers don't leave them on the ground outside your car!

That's just ... grosssssssssssssss.

Hmm, good thread.

My biggest would have to be the people who will shove past you to get a better view of the parade or fireworks, despite us getting there early like you should, to stake out a good spot. Last time we went to WDW and we found the perfect spot for the parade behind an elderly couple who were in scooters. Perfect! We didn't have anyone in front of us who we had to look around, to be able to see. The tape line was an inch behind us. We had a family of 6 trying to push us forward so they could get inside the tape line, while a CM was getting onto them to keep moving. Wish you could all have seen it, because there was NO room. Then the mother in the group, shoved inbetween me and my partner (we were shoulder to shoulder) and tried to push in front of me to get behind the scooter, which would have shoved me outside the tape line. Needless to say, it didn't get very pretty after that.

Other pet peeves would be children or teenagers that aren't well behaved. This includes talking on rides, taking flash pictures, screaming constantly, running and knocking people over.

Then again, I'm not so sure who to get mad at. The kids who are just being kids, or the parents who allow them to act that way in public. I guess they both frustrate me.

Well I would have said something about the Matterhorn and it being in DL and how we were in DCA....LOL

Pirates in 3D??? I wonder what her friend thought of that. LMAO!!

I mean...MAYBE she was referring to that little smoke cloud with the image projected on it that was new since the movies came out, but that's the closest I can get to understanding the "new" 3D version of the ride lol. Of course, I've only been on this earth for 26 years - did the characters on the ride used to be flat cardboard cutouts? ;)

Yes, the ride used to be completely made of cardboard but they had to change it because the ships kept sinking! :p

the nerve of that woman.. seriously.. what goes through these offenders minds???? and hey ZZ your partner and you are soo cute together!! :flower3:

the nerve of people.. thinking that POTC is 3D!! seriously.. its just polictly incorrect to think that GRR bear is matterhorn let alone that potc is now 3d..

Alright, my pet-peeves are more about knowing what you are enjoying. (Like, knowing if you are at DL or Magic Mtn.)

True story:

I was standing at the castle taking a picture last December when a dad (guessing on relationship) leaned down to his daughter (around 5) and said, "So... do you think Cinderella is asleep up there?"

- pause for all of you to process what he said -

She then began hypothesizing about what Cinderella might be doing at that moment in her castle.

It took everything in me not to interrupt this sweet moment to explain that Cinderella was most likely doing absolutely nothing up in that castle unless there was a cross-country princess sleepover going on because you and your daughter are staring at Sleeping Beauty's castle and Cinderella's castle is 3,000 miles away in Florida. princess:princess:

- okay, getting revved up again at the memory of the moment -

Know the stories behind the magic! Please. Pretty please. It's Sleeping Beauty's castle. Poor little girl will grow up all messed up now, all due to Princess Confusion Syndrome.

Okay, done now. I think.....

the nerve of people.. thinking that POTC is 3D!!...

Just a guess here, but...

It was announced in May that the 4th movie in the PotC franchise is going to be shot in Disney Digital 3D. I would bet that's what she meant by enjoying the "new" Pirates now that it's in 3D. pirate:

ITS NOT *IN* 3D yet...soooooooo the nerve of them!

how about matterhorn confusin syndrome... hmm what you think of that one dreams?

Maybe….maybe they got confused at to what park they were in like that one lady who thought that disneyland had escalators….???? Just a thought! :rotfl2:

Seriously! It really does bug me. I see that all the time - someone loudly proclaiming their Disney knowledge to their companions, and they are really, really, really wrong! I feel bad for the poor people who are listening to them.

If they were disboards members they would not be wrong.. sadly they are not , and I think next time I will correct them!!!

Maybe she was talking about the new Pirates movie, that is going to be 3D.

The main thing that bothers me is adults being cruel to their children. Its one thing to be cranky because everyone is tired, but I hate it when I see parents hitting their children, screaming at them or being rough with them. :sad1:

I also get annoyed at people making out, or wearing inappropriate clothing. Tone it down, people!

I have to grimace at the stroller thing...if you've had to push one around in DL, you know its really hard to NOT accidentally bump into someone. I've done it. :headache: Its hard to see the ground in front of the stroller and where the person's feet are in front of you, especially when you're trying to look forward to see where you're going, plus keeping an eye on all the kids and the rest of your party! I've even done it with my little umbrella stroller! I do always say sorry though! It does hurt like a %$#@ though, and it makes me mad when I get my ankles rammed into, too! :rolleyes1

The escalators are still there. :goodvibes If you go in Starcade, the escalators are off to the left (I think I can't remember). Anyhow, if you stand at the bottom and look straight up, you'll see a Star Wars X-Wing fighter jet. Here's a pic when the Starcade was on both floors. You can see a bit of the escalators in the pic:
