DM & DF are spending a few days in LA (Radisson Maingate) before starting a tour. They are approaching 60 and would like any advice on what would be suitable for them to see/do, bearing in mind....

They enjoyed Universal in Florida but the trip to US offered is a full day and they will be suffering from a 12 flight and an 8 hour time difference

They don't like thrill rides

MK doesn't really appeal - would DCA suit better ? especially as its right next door !

Any other suggestions

Thanks

Tracey

All multi-day tickets are park hopper tickets now, they can hop all they want.

Disneyland is wonderful - they will love it even more than Magic Kingdom. They will love Main Street, French Market, Riverbelle Terrace, and Rancho del Zocalo restaurant. Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, the Columbia, Billy Hill and the Hillbillies show - they are all over there in the same area of the park. Fantasyland at Disneyland is MUCH better than Magic Kingdom at WDW, they will enjoy Storybook Canal Boats, the dark rides, and it's a small world there.

DCA has some great shows - Blast is wonderful, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, It's Tough to Be A Bug (which I think is actually better here than at Animal Kingdom - it isn't exactly the same), Muppets 3-d (the same), and street theater. The Animation Studio is a wonderful place to visit - there are films and displays there as well as interactive games.

They will love Downtown Disney - it is 100% better than the one at WDW. Incredible. And they shoud plan to visit the Grand Californian, see the lobby area, have dinner at Storyteller Cafe or Napa Rose. Over at theh Disneyland Hotel, Hook's Point or Granville's Steak House will be good adult shoices, but Goofy's Kitchen is wonderful, too.

I agree that they should like DL better than MK. The first big difference is the size ( great pun eh ) . DL requires so much less walking to see it all. They should do Pirates , Jungle Cruise, Mark Twain, Haunted Mansion, Small World, and make sure they do the train and monorail, which are really attractions not transportation. Have them eat breakfast at the River belle terrace.....wander around New Orleans Square......I could do a day at DL and never get on a ride !
