Has anybody done this?
It is only 12 euros each when you have a shareholder's card, and might be quite interesting. But it would be good to hear from someone who has done it, as it is two hours where you cannot go on any rides which is something I do not enter into lightly! :rotfl:

DW and I did this tour the other year and it was a lovely walk around the park with the tour guide. We got to hear about the history of the park and she pointed out some things we did not know. We were the only two on the tour so we got a realy in depth one. So much so that it took us two and a half hours to go around the park with her.

It was nice to have all the names on the windows on Main Street explained and at the end we got given a special tour guide pin badge.

We also got to see behind the scenes of one of the rides too.

We did it in Feb. Again there was just us and it is really interesting. There were loads of things in the Main Street stores that you just never notice. You also feel like VIPs whilst you are walking round with your personal guide.
If you are into pin trading its worth it for the pins too.

I now have to decide if we are going to do the Studio tour when we go next Feb.:scratchin Does anyone know if its the same pin you get.

We did the tour in Feb 2009, and there was only the 4 of us - it concentrated mainly on Main St, Frontierland and a bit of Fantasyland but it was very enjoyable.

The guide pointed out some of the small details and the story behind some of the design decisions - the reason the DLH is pink, the tale of the Ravenswood family and how it shaped Frontierland etc.
We were given a roped off section to watch the parade from and a commemorative pin. :thumbsup2

We also got to see Star tours in action from outside the Starspeeder with the lights on! :yoda:

The English version isn't available everyday, so check at City Hall as soon as you can to book it.

This sounds great, I think we will go for it! You can book it via an email address on the shareholders website. We are there for 6 days so we will have plenty of time, no need to rush around doing the rides every day, and this would be something different.
I like the sound of the pins too! I'm not a trader but starting to build up a small collection of special pins so this would be nice to have.
Thanks for your replies, very helpful :goodvibes

This sounds great - I didn't know it was a possibility - doesn anyone know how much it costs to non-shareholders and how to book?

No problem at all, I just googled! I quite fancy it myself...especially if children are free? Although I might save it for when I've got more time to leisure about. My next trip will probably be a bit manic lol!

Thank you all for giving advice on this - I went ahead and booked it. For anyone wondering, i did this via the email address on the shareholders website, receiving a reply very quickly.
We are to turn up 15 minutes beforehand at City Hall and pay for the tour then, showing the shareholders card to get discount.
I'm really looking forward to this now! :goodvibes

We've done both tours and they are both very interesting, I'd definitely recommend both.
I now have to decide if we are going to do the Studio tour when we go next Feb.:scratchin Does anyone know if its the same pin you get.
In fact, we preferred the Studios tour as we found there was more about this park that we didn't already know. The pin is the same design but it's a different colour.
