Disneyland Park Hopper Pass Upgrade question...

I am wondering if anyone knows if when you upgrade from a 5 day Park Hopper pass to a 6 day Park Hopper if they issue you a brand new ticket (stating that it is a 6 day Park Hopper) and if so, does it state the value in dollars on the back of it? I'm interested in maybe going for an annual pass at the final day of our trip in case we can make it back there next year. I also want to make sure to get our MM in before we do an upgrade.

I don't know if you'll get a new ticket or not, but the tickets don't have the dollar value written on them. They will be in the ticket though, so if you do upgrade, they can see how many days they were for.

One further thought, if you have used your magic morning already, you might want to upgrade to APs before the end of your trip to get the discounts for food. Just make sure there are no blackout days for your AP during your trip first.

My current 5 day Park Hopper passes do have the value written on the back - we've purchased ours through a points reward program so that's why they have the value in dollars printed on?

VERY good point about receiving the 10% discount on food. For a family of 4, that's no small deal for 5 or 6 days in the park, assuming one meal at least in the park per day. Thank you for reminding me about that!!

Thanks so much for your reply, and I hope others will jump in with their experience about upgrading tickets.

I've had tickets that had the amount paid on the back, I've also had tickets that didn't. For those that didn't they scanned them at the ticket booth (where we did our upgrade) and they had the value encoded so they knew what we had paid for them. Definitely check any pending black out dates and plan accordingly to upgrade, or consider upgrading 1 of your APs to a Premium for the free parking and higher discounts.
