Here's an online article (with pictures) that might interest you:

Usually, I write about retired Disneyland attractions on my Yesterland site. But this week, I thought it would be fun to write about a Marriott Vacation Club at a location where one could expect to find a Disney Vacation Club.

There's a section in the article about how this resort is invisible to Disney Vacation Club members. What are you thoughts about this?

I hope you enjoy the article.

I looked into this a while ago, when we were planning a trip to Paris (which unfortunately my cousin, who was supposed to go, nixed :( ) Apparently, though, we can trade in through II, and it does seem to have a lot of availability. :) And for a lot better rate than one of the Disney hotels.

Thank you for posting this information. We were just discussing our wish lists for DVC expansion in a thread here, and EuroDisney came up.

This looks like a beautiful place and am glad to hear it is available through II. :)

So can we trade into this? it says in the article we can't.:confused3

If we can...would this be 160 points for a 1 bed for a week like all the other world passport?

Thanks Werner. Well written. I know we can trade into DLP and when we do the park passes are included. But those trades are in the Disney resorts. I don't know if this will trade from a DVC. I can see it with my MVCI properties.

WHen I called DVC last year, they sad we could trade. I did visit the II site and got the resort code, gave it to the DVC rep, and he said we could trade it through II. The code is MVF. I don't think park passes are included. It looks like they may only have 2 and 3 bedroom units. It is always a red week so I don't know what the DVC points would be.

That would be great.:) ...Iam in the UK so can fly over to paris really quickly and cheaply. Would it be 160 points for a week in high season.?

Interesting. I was told the opposite.

The Marriott at Disneyland Paris is missing from DVC's World Passport Collection listing at http://disney.intervalworld.com/web/cs?a=5. The only II resorts in France in the World Passport Collection are two Club Sunterra resorts. When I asked Member Services, I was told that the Marriott timeshare is not offered because the Disney resorts at Disneyland Paris are available through DVC's Disney Collection.

As an an II member through our Marriott ownership, I can see good exchange availability at this Marriott during the colder half of the year. I don't recall seeing inventory just sitting there for good spring and summer weeks.

How odd, it seems MS doesn't exactly know. You see, I asked an MS agent if we were limited to ONLY the world passport collection when dealing with II, or if we could trade to other locations. She said, she didn't know, but would transfer me to the person that handles DVC-II trades (evidently not all MS reps can do this), and the "specialist" told me we could trade to other II locations, looked up the MVF code, and said we could trade to it. I never made a ressie, because we were only in the initial planning stage at that time (before my cousin cancelled  .)

I agree that it's odd. This may be a case of, "if you don't like the first answer, call back and speak to someone else."

However, this is at odds with a situation on this board last year. A DVC member wanted to stay at the Westin Kierland Villas in Arizona. The resort is on the World Passport Collection list, but it has two II codes (for two different phases). DVC only had one of the resort codes in the system. So, even though there was availability under the code that wasn't listed (and the even though the villas are essentially identical in the two phases), the DVC member was unable to trade in -- because the II resort code was not one DVC's "selected" II resorts.

If I read it correctly, the resort doesn't have any 1-B/R units, only 2-B/R or higher.

In that case, IF you could trade using DVC points, it appears the minimum would be 270 since it's Red season year round.

Yes. Marriott's Village d'Ile-de-France does not have any 1BR units.

There are also a few 3BR units, which can be locked off into a 2BR and a studio. So, in addition to 2BR units, there are sometimes 3BR units and studios available through II. But there are never any 1BR units because they don't exist (the 2BR units can't be locked off).

I'll be at this resort at the end of March. Cash, not points. They have a pretty decent off-season rate, although not as good as last year (should have gone then), and of course the dollar is so weak that doesn't help.
But still far less than even a decent hotel room in Paris itself.
Thanks for the link though. Now I know I have to take bus #57 from DLP to the resort.

Guess after that, I'll have been to all the 'might-have-been' DVC's: Marriott Newport Coast, Hyatt Mountain Lodge Beaver Creek, and Marriott DLP. (I don't know what if anything ever happened to the DVC New York site.)

This resort doesn't show on the II World Passport link from the member site. Are there properties that you can trade for that don't appear through that link?

Unfortunately, it seems to depend upon who you ask at Member Services. If you read the entire thread, some of us were told yes, others were told no.

My understanding is no, DVC members cannot exchange in though I'm surprised it's not on the list given the specifics.

I found this on the news wires today.

PARIS (Bloomberg) – Euro Disney SCA, Europe's largest theme-park operator, and Pierre & Vacances SA, the continent's biggest vacation-apartment company, are teaming up to build an eco-tourism vacation village near Paris. The companies' chief executive officers signed an accord with the government Tuesday to build about 5,000 houses and apartments on a 1,300-acre site.

The project will be located about 22 miles east of the French capital and less than four miles from Euro Disney's two theme parks. The village will generate up to 9,000 jobs in the region, executives said at a news conference in Paris. They expect to attract $2.3 billion in private real-estate investment. The first phase will open in 2010, they said.

"We see this project as a strategic addition to our existing activities," Euro Disney CEO Karl Holz said. "We conducted numerous studies and concluded that there is a lot to be gained" from eco-tourism, he said. The village will be built according to the World Wildlife Fund's One Planet Living principles, which include offsetting all carbon emissions, recycling waste and water, using sustainable materials, and protecting the natural habitat and wildlife.

Cars will be banned from the project, and visitors will be transported by boats on artificial canals. The developers aim to bank on growing appetite for "green" tourism while profiting from the proximity of Paris.

Maybe part of this development will go DVC.

The points per night at the Disneyland Paris hotels are so high it would really be worth it for the points per week for a two bed.

I read about the eco tourist thing as was wondering if we could use DVC points to stay.
