hi everybody,
hope everyone in DIS land is doing well. I am here to beg for help:cool1:

lunchtime at work today I decided that over the weekend I am going to do a day trip to DLP, and i really mean it, its going to be a 24 hour marathon! I have booked a return ferry crossing for £27, ferry leaving Dover at 00:45 saturday morning, coming back 23:30 saturday night. Its just me and my other half going.
so anyway, I've booked the ferry, I've got some euros and now I'm kind of arrrgghhh:lmao:
I need to know anything and everything you can tell me, like:

how long will it take me to drive to DLP?
when i get there, is the car park easy to find? how much is parking?
I'm not planning on tearing from ride to ride, just want to enjoy the park and get a disney fix, will only be doing magic kingdom:love:
so:
what is not worth my time?
what should i absolutely do?
where is really nice to sit or just be?
wheres the good food? I'm not worried about eating in a sit down restaurant btw.

if you can think of anything I need to know, then please please post here.

....and yes i know, I'm a tad crazy:rotfl2:

Sounds like fun to me!

Here are my suggestions:

Do not miss:
BTMRR (if it's re-opened by then and you're comfortable going on it)
Alice's Labrynth
Space Mountain
Haunted Manor
POTC
A peek under the castle

Where to sit and relax:
Anywhere you can see the castle - it's beautiful!

Where to eat:
I don't remember the name of the restaurant, but it's the chuck-wagon style (I think BBQ) restaurant in Frontierland.

Be mindful, that unless things have changed, there is no civilized manner in which to see the characters. They seemingly just appear - and a crowd gathers all around - pure madness and no crowd control whatsoever (of course, if it's crowded at all.)

I can't help you out with the others as we took Eurostar directly to DLP.

Have a blast!

It's 3 hours on a clear road from Calais. I have always parked at the hotels but the carparks are clearly signposted. Don't forget you will need money for the toll roads on the motor way (last summer it was about €20 each way).

If you particularly want to meet characters, there are organized meet and greets - at both ends of Main Street and in 2 places in Fantasy land, but the queues are long. As a pp said there are also 'pop up' meet and greets where characters just suddenly appear and it is a free for all.

Unfortunately the castle is mostly covered up at present as it is being refurbed, so you can't explore the stained glass windows and tapestries upstairs but the Christmas shop inside is still open!

A couple of the restaurants do a 40 minute express lunch so you can still have a sit down TS meal and not miss too much Park time. Walts is one of my favourites and offers this lunch.

I hope you have a great time.

Sorry, I haven't got any advice, but just wanted to say :yay: Have a great time Claire !! :yay:

Takes us 2.5-3 hours from calais to the Disney doors, don't forget cash for the toll roads but it's a lovely straight journey. Car park and hotels are clearly posted so you won't miss them. Things not to miss - cafe mickey if you want a character hit as the parks can be a scrum, I would prob head into the studios if you can and do some of the shows. In the main park just enjoy walking round that's my face thing to do in Disney Paris :goodvibes it's such a pretty place. Have a fab time :thumbsup2

How exciting!
POTC
Haunted Mansion
Big Thunder Mountain
Dragon under the Castle
Annette's for lunch
Hope you have a great day.:goodvibes
