Disneyland Paris hotel or Hotel NY?

DH and I are going to Paris/London in September. We wanted to do 2 nights at a Disneyland Resort then 3 nights at a hotel in Paris itself. We have a DVC so we were thinking of using some of our points for the 2 nights in Disneyland but cannot decide on a resort. We are between Hotel NY (which would be 30pts/nt) and the Disneyland Paris hotel (50pts/nt). Anyone have any opinions? I love how close the Disneyland Paris resort is but want to make sure it's worth the extra points it would take. I am not really a fan of Sequoia Lodge or Newport Bay. thanks :)

Without a doubt it would be the DLH for me. I've stayed twice and love it :lovestruc.

As you will only be there a few days, location of DLH will be ideal as you will waste no time getting to the Park at all (I know HNY is only a 10 min walk). Being in the park for EMH before anyone else is fabulous. Even at HNY you will be subject to baggage check at outer gates next to Disney Village - you don't have this at DLH so nothing holding you up at all.

I can't compare the breakfasts (think they are similar, hot buffet etc) but being able to look over the entrance to DLRP from breakfast is so special :goodvibes.

There are people on here who prefer HNY (and have stayed in both hotels) so I'm sure you'll get a few answers.

Do you only get extra magic hours at DLH? I wasn't aware that you avoid baggage check from it either. I have never been to Paris so it's all new to me lol.

Sorry, I probably didn't make it clear, all Disney hotels get the EMH. It's because DLH is on the doorstep, you don't have to go through baggage check like you do with the other hotels around the lake/further afield.

While it doesn't take long for the check (and from what I gather it's not very thorough), it does add on time getting into the park, especially if there are a few people all at the same time.

It's not a big issue by any means but is a plus of staying at the DLH.

Have only stayed at HNY, really nice hotel, staff friendly and helpful and the lobby, bar is just fab.
Staying at DLH in March, had a look around last year and reminds me of the Grand Floridian at WDW, location is perfect and if you are happy price wise I would choose to stay there.
HNY though is by no means a bad choice.

DLH is the good choice for you near the DP,very well , CM and breakfast marvelous:thumbsup2

Having stayed in neither I would love to stay in both of them but if I was given the choice it would be DLH! But it you could use your points for New York Empire state suite I would choose that! X

Have stayed at both and whilst we did enjoy DLH - it can't be beaten for location - I like the HNY just as much. If it's a big price difference I'd go with HNY.

Heya!

I just requested HNY for 2 nights in May. As much as I wanted to do DLH, it is 58 points per night so 116 vs 60 points for 2 nights. Only having 145 points per year, and planning a big family get together in 2013 - I needed to save on the points.

Hubby is in Kuwait; so I'm trying to describe the hotel options to him since he can't skype and use the internet at the same time w/out losing the skype connections...

DLH: hmm reminds me of the Grand Floridian but not quite as Victorian but close

HNY: umm let me come back to that one~

Newport: think Beach Club, or Boardwalk - more like beach club

Sequoia - Wilderness resort thing...

back to HNY: well it's really contemporay looking...
HIM: so like the Contemporary Resort?
me: no no.. it looks contemporary
HIM: so the resort place?
me: no no - it looks modern - contemporary with a small c
HIM: I'm lost...
me: <SIGH>not like the Contemporary but that's as close as we'll get...
HIM: does it have a bar?
me: Yes
Him: I'm good.
:lmao:

Sometimes it can be really easy~

Flechette, HNY is similar in concept/design to Swan & Dolphin @ WDW as they are all the work of the same Architect (whose name escapes me right now).

Have stayed at both and whilst we did enjoy DLH - it can't be beaten for location - I like the HNY just as much. If it's a big price difference I'd go with HNY.

I totally agree with this:thumbsup2
