Hi All,

Just reading a DLP article on MiceAge.com and noticed this at the bottom:-

IMPORTANT: Now some unpleasant news about my Disneyland Paris book. As most of you know I'm one of the authors of the "Disneyland Paris, From Sketch to Reality," a 320 page coffee table book about Disneyland Paris. If you liked the article today, you'll love this book! It is full of 750 photos and renderings from WDI, along with interviews of all Imagineers involved! The Imagineers told us that it was for them "probably the best book ever done on a Disney theme park."

The bad news is that the book will very probably cease being published in a few weeks. So, if you don’t have it yet, the last copies of the English collector’s limited edition that I have in stock may probably be your last chance to get it. And, believe me, this book is so beautiful that you'll love it from the first sight! Of course there is a special price for MiceAge readers, and with just a few copies left you don't want to miss it!

I know there's always been a lot of interest about this book on this forum, so just thought I'd give you a head's up in case anyone wants to get hold of a copy.

There's more information on the site, along with an e-mail address to contact the guy who is selling them. Here's the link:-

The details are right at the bottom.

From a personal point of view I've got a copy of this book and it's fantastic

Cheers

This is an absolute must for anyone who is a fan of DLRP - the pictures of the rides and attractions are amazing - I can't begin to say how many times I've looked at the Pirates of the Caribbean complete route diagram - awesome!

Another vote for this. I bought it at the park last November but do not think they are available there.

Very handy for quizzes :teeth:

Oh thank you so much for posting this, that book looks like exactly the kind of thing I adore - Disneyland and concept art in one, it doesn't get any better than that.

Emma, I ordered 2 recently direct from the other co-author Didier Ghez. He sent them very quickly and with a personal inscription in each. They were 45 euros including p&p. His email address is: Didier.Ghez@dig.com

Oh fab, thank you loads Di! I have emailed the person whose email address they've given at MiceAge.com, but I'll contact him as well and see who replies first.

Quite expensive though isn't it?! :earseek: But if it's anything like the Finding Nemo concept art book, which I got for Christmas last year (it is just so gorgeous, honestly, Finding Nemo fans will love it: Amazon have it for £21) it'll be worth every penny. :goodvibes

I also ordered it from Didier. Little did I know he was the author of the book! He also wrote a personal inscription. I love the book and he was very prompt at sending it and nice to deal with!!!

Hm. I have just ordered it from Alain (one of the co-authors) for $88 including postage. That's £50. :earseek: Postage was $23. I am beginning to regret being so hasty, I wish I waited for Didier to reply, in case it was cheaper. :/

So, you can't go into a book store and order it??? Argh I want it!!! LOL. Could i have the ISBN and the author pleaaaase? :teeth:

 I got into a panic because the collector's edition was sold out, and there were only 8 copies left of the regular edition! Arrrgh. I'm so silly. Should've waited! :sad2:

You could try but I doubt it. Contacting Didier is easy and he's very dependable and prompt. (The original price of the book was 100 euros!!!).The ISBN is: 2951788312 and the authors are Alain Littaye and Didier Ghez. Published by Nouveau Millenaire.

I just couldn't justify spending 100 euros for the collectors edition and therefore spent 45 euros on the standard edition.

Oh so that's the explanation. I certainly would never have dreamed of spending 100 euros on a book! The one I was sent has a sticker on the back saying 45 euros but underneath it is the price printed on the book cover which says 100 euros. Maybe I struck lucky!!

If you got the collectors edition you got a good deal.
The main difference between the two is that the collectors was limited to 1000 copies and is printed on very high-quality 150gr paper "maine", hand numbered and with gold platted cover. It features 4 special prints reproducing concept paintings of the Walt Disney Studios.

No neither would I  but Bryan treated me to the collectors edition for an early Christmas present. He didn't spend 100 euros though, Alain was selling his last few copies off at a reduced price!

It is truly a beautiful book, the paper is exceptional quality. If you have struck lucky Di, the number of your book will be handwritten inside.

Emma, are you sure its not a collectors edition you've ordered at that price? That's roughly what Bryan paid for mine.

*calms down a bit* Hmm, you might be right, y'know! It does seem a bit steep for the regular edition!!

Ah well, it's done now, and no doubt I will enjoy the book whichever version it turns out to be! :)

I emailed Didier this morning and he replied within two hours! This is what he told me:

There are two versions of the book.

1. The Regular Edition costs 40 Euros (11% discount) + postage (10 Euros the book weight a massive 5 pounds) = 55 Euros

2. The Limited Edition (Limited to 2000 copies, contains 4 reproduction of Disney Studios concept art, is hand numbered and printed on very high quality paper) costs 80 Euros (20% discount) + postage (10 Euros) = 90 Euros

Both will come autographed and potentially personalized.

The payment method that I accept is Paypal (which allows you to use all major credit cards).

The only issue is: the books are in Paris and I am in Madrid. I will normally travel there before the end of November, however, if I do not, they will only be sent around mid-January.

Let me know how you want to proceed and what edition interests you.

I hope you will love the book.

He sounds so nice. :) Anyway, I think I'm going to get the standard edition from him! I need to have a think about it but I really do want it... eee.

Thankyou for the information!

I've been trying to get hold of a copy for ages, but have never quite been able to afford it. With Christmas on the way, I've sent all the information to my mum! :teeth:
