Disneyland ON Halloween Day

We are taking a quick trip Thurs Oct 30, Fri Oct 31st and Sat Nov 1....

I see there is something going on for Halloween but I am 100 % confused how it works for Halloween Day.

We are planning on using our day 2 of 3 day Hopper Pass...do they kick us out for the special party? Do you have to pay MORE for the day?

Can anyone explain it to me?

we've been to DL many times but never ON Halloween...

On Halloween day at around 6 or 7 pm if recall they are going to have the Halloween party at Disneyland. You will have to buy Halloween party tickets for it or leave and go to California Adventure.

Also note, the tickets sell out early sometimes so if you want to stay for the party you should buy the tickets asap.

On Oct 31 there will be Mickey's Halloween Party from 7:00 to midnight. It is a hard ticket event so if you wish to attend tickets are $77 per person. During the day you can get into DL with your regular park ticket, but at 7:00 the park closes to day guests so anyone without a party ticket must leave. It's a lot of fun with trick or treating, a special fireworks show, a cute Halloween cavalcade, meet and greets with rare characters and villains and an opportunity for adults to dress up in costume. If you don't buy party tickets you can go over to DCA since you have hopper tickets. The Oct 31 party usually sells out in advance.

You can learn more about the party on the Halloweentime superthread:

Those are the exact dates we are planning between my GF and I. From my understanding is that you can get regular park tickets to get admission in the morning of Halloween, but since it's a Micky Halloween Party day, the park closes at 7 to Day passes and opens up for MHP Ticket holders. So if you're planning to do the whole day, you will need to get morning tickets and a night ticket.

We're planning to just do the MHP and admission starts 3 hours before the party start (4 PM) on Halloween to avoid spending more money. GF and I are planning to do DLR on 30th, sleep in on the 31st, MHP on the 31st night, and DCA on Saturday. Others recommended CA on the 30th for World of Color, DLR for MHP Firework, and Nov 1 for DLR for the normal Fireworks (getting all the show varieties in our trip), but we decided against this because we want to spend more times with the Halloween themed park at DLR. And to save money we are just getting 2-Days 1 Park Admission and 1 MHP for total of 3 days in Anaheim.

Most people who try to "save money" by not purchasing hoppers at DLR regret it later. The parks work like escape valves for each other in terms of crowding and wait times--that's why most regulars hop. I'd really caution this on a Halloween Party night, too. If you don't like the party vibe, you're out of luck with no ability to head over to DCA. Many people here like MHPs, but not everyone does. Last year we did an MHP and the rowdy teenagers in costume made it feel very unmagical and we pretty much hated the experience.

I'm curious now because that's our plan but is the whole DLR open during MHP? Or only certain parts of it open? We were hoping to do most of the bulk activities the day before and then try to do the extras the night of the MHP.

I mean if there's an obnoxious group of people, we can just not follow that crowd. But then again my GF and I are relatively young, so we're probably those people haha

The rest of the resort is open on an MHP night (DCA, DTD), however within Disneyland Park, itself, some rides/attractions/restaurants are not open. Most are though.

As the PP said, most of Disneyland (DL) is open for MHP, but certain attractions are not running. You can find information on the HalloweenTime SuperThread's MHP FAQ (post #3):

The rest of the Disneyland Resort (DLR) will be operating, but the hour vary. DCA tends to open a little later on MHP nights because a fair number of non-party guests "hop" over to DCA. DTD will be open as well.

Ok....let me make sure I get this....
IF we purchase 3 Day Hoppers on Thurs am for Thurs, Fri ( Halloween) and Sat... we will still be allowed in the park on Friday...right? And we will have to leave at closing IF we don't spend an extra $77 for those 4 hours?

We are using our Disney Rewards money so we need to purchase the Hoppers AT the Park....

Hmmmm... I had a thought....
Could we do this? Buy Halloween tickets when they go on sale....then purchase 2 Day Hopper Passes when we arrive and use them on Thurs and Sat?
Does the Halloween ticket include ALL DAY AND the party...or is extra ?

The Halloween ticket lets you in 3 hours prior to the start of the party, so on a Friday that would be 4pm (and the party goes until midnight). If you didn't buy a party ticket and used a park hopper day you could go from opening until 7pm (party start time). If it's a non-hopper ticket you're out of the parks, if it's a hopper you could go over to DCA at that point. The only way to do the full day at DL on Fri would be to have a park ticket AND a party ticket.

On Halloween night, the party runs from 7:00 pm to midnight, so it's 5 hours. That is correct, if you do not have a ticket to MHP, you will be asked to leave the park at 7:00 pm. Basically, the CMs will form check points throughout the park. If you do not have a wristband, you will not be allowed to progress past the check point and will ultimately be funneled to Main Street and then out of the park.

MHP ticket is good from 4:00 pm on Friday, 10/31 (basically it gets you into DL from 4:00 pm until midnight). You will not be able to enter the park before 4:00 pm if you only have the MHP ticket. Also, the MHP ticket is only good for entrance into DL, so you cannot go to DCA at any point using that ticket. Party tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday (7/30).

Ok...I got this....SOOOO...if we want to be at DL ALL DAY....we have to purchase TWO tickets then....

YIKES...that is a pricey day.

Thanks all for the info.... much appreciated.
