Disneyland off property hotels

So i just called the anaheim orange county guest services #
they gave me a combo price, im guessing this is good, i hope someone can tell me
its 3 days in DL and 2 days in US includes park tickets free parking and wifi at the hotel and a family kids suite for $28xx.xx sooooooo?
unfort. their cancellation policy stinks :( so I couldn't hold it for now, because DH is not home from work
if i cancel the whole they before the trip I get charged 25.00.....
so now I have to call back before 630 NY time to get this woman back on the phone to help me.

Be careful with package deals, they tend to be more expensive than ala cart. When are your travel dates?

well what i did was i called the hotel themselves and they have a deal to, you get 2 adults park hopper tickets but i have to pay for my kids at the gate if i don't want hoppers cause the hotel only sells hoppers, so i was trying to do the math, and if we leave out US and do just 3 days in DL it will cost us 1900.00
then i went to US site and added how much 2 day tickets were and added that to the total and it brought me to 2700.00 so the package was a tad more money

my dates are 4/1 - 4/6

Do you WANT 2 days at universal? I wouldn't pay for it if I wasn't already planning to go. If you want to buy a package, have you checked getawaytoday.com?

I think I read this and I did not see you had a price limit or such but a few more suggestions. Residence in, both main gate and resort, they both have huge breakfast so can save you on food, we always eat a good breakfast and grab a piece of fruit and were not hungry again until 2. There is also spring suite that is new and has a full breakfast. There is portofinos, but I don't think that has breakfast or it didn't when we stayed years ago. Ther is home something by Hilton, I think they have breakfast. Ther is suites at Annabelle I think. I think del sols has suites. I think it is called peacock suites, we stayed there years ago and ther was tons of rooms and a continental breakfast. I think hojo's has suites. If money is an issue, many times it is cheaper to get two rooms at a cheaper hotel than to get a suite that sleeps 6, one of my kids favorite when we all go is Fairfield in, I think it's because McDonald's is right there and Pizza Hut, because there is nothing special to me about that hotel.

Also just for a warning, because we had it happen to us. Many time people on the phone do not necessarily come from that hotel or the area, and anaheim area has a strick fire rule of five in hotel rooms, unless a suite, so even if the kid on the phone says it's ok, I would read the policy to make sure.

Honestly I don't want to go to US, my husband said we should at least try it, but if we do I am thinking 1 day is enough, besides isn't my 7 year old a little young for it?

Thank you for your warning!!! Dully noted, and I have since cancelled that ressie!! ;)
thank you for all those hotel names, I am on it right now!! thank you.
I called the hojo and they had nothing for our family size, but I will call the others, my husband wants something in walking distance to DL....are those fairly close?

So you have a reservation now at a Best Western, right? Is it a mini suite at Best Western Park Place Inn & Minisuites? That is where my family of five adult sized people stays. It is right at the crosswalk to the parks, so location can't be beat , and has free breakfast. If that's where you are staying you might find it a little tight space wise , but you can't beat the location.

I got a great rate for Desert Inn on Orbitz. Plus there is now a 15% off code that expires today for an additional 15%. Code is TAKEABREAK

Walking distance, that depends on who is walking I guess. Fairfield inn and hojo's are definately walking distance, about 7 minutes. I think a best wester and del sols are walking and a little shorter but I never stayed at them. Annabelle and spring hill are both a short walk, but on the (east? Side) of park. I know there is a holiday inn, on the (west? Side) all those would be less than 10 min walk. Residence in is like a 12 minute walk. Then there are the portofinos, home stead, and such they are a lot longer walk but there is an art pass you can get to take the bus.

Yep that's the place
thank you!!

Can I ask what week you are going, did I miss that? I just did a search for the last week of March on get away today and came up with a number of family suites still available?

its 4/1 - 4/6
I was just about to go on that site myself

A few things with that site, even if you push in 6 people they are still showing you some rooms that say Max is 5, don't know why. But to me fire safety is one thing I will not cheat on. I am not aware of some of the hotels they list. And remember tickets are included, did you already get tickets, if so you will have to go to like orbits or something. Or if you find a hotel you like with a decent price, go to that hotels website and see what they have. Some are offering the fourth night free.

Have you been to Universal in Orlando? The reason I ask is because if that is what your husband is expecting from the California version he is going to be disappointed. I don't think it would take more than 1 day at Universal myself but others who know more about it may have a different opinion.

The hotel you have picked (BWPPI) is one of the best as far as convenience is concerned, so you might want to stay with it. Have you tried the Carousel Inn? They offer a discount if you are staying 4 or more nights. GetAwayToday is good, but I almost always get a better deal booking the hotel through Orbitz and getting the tickets through either Cheaptickets or Orbitz (the exception is on some hotels GetAwayToday has free nights). If you sign-up for Ebates and then go through that website to get to the Orbitz or Cheaptickets site you can also get some money back. Right now Cheaptickets is the best deal with 6.88% cash back. I would definitely check out the different combos before going with a package deal just to make sure it really is the best deal available.

Either way, have fun! I grew up as a WDW person but after moving out west I have really come to love DL, I think you will have a great time!

getawaytoday.com has some good deals now for the next 4 days. Check it out you can save a little bit on the tickets and they may be bale to help you with a room.
The reason desert inn has always had good reviews is because we book month and months in advance and could get rooms from 79-120 a night for nice rooms. I would never pay 200+ for desert inn rooms. Sorry.

BWPPI is the one you sound like you are trying. It is right across the street and I have it booked for my dec trip. I hope they can accommodate you.
Universal studios might be a bit to much for your 7 year old. We are not even taking my son for a few more years and he is 12.
Good luck on your last min trip.
