Hi all
this will be our VERY FIRST TRIP TO DL
we are more DW people....
so needless to say I am sooooo clueless when it comes to DL and resorts etc.

I am running out the door right now so I don't have too much time to read through the threads so PLEASE forgive me if there is a specific post I should be reading, but my question is;
What off site hotels do you recommend, for a family of 6 the youngest being 7yrs old

side note WE ARE DRIVING DOWN

Hi. We are driving down and a family of six. I've searched thru a lot of off site hotels, and made the decision to reserve the desert inn And suites. In a family suite. It has 4 queen beds and two bathrooms. Basically it is two adjoining rooms. It also has a small free continental breakfast. I hear some beds can be hard and the breakfast is lacking, but free food is free food. The total For 5 nights was $1065 (including taxes, resort and parking fees). I really wanted to stay on site, but it would cost at least $1600 more.
You should also check out the carousel inn, they have suites that I almost went with.
I haven't stayed at any of these places, so can't give reviews. Just what our family has decided on after research.
Good luck :)

Bummer!! Which one did you call? There is also the park vue inn and best western park place in I believe. The hotels I've mentioned are within walking distance, as that's one of my must haves for our trip. There are many more, others can probably tell you about, that are a little farther.
We are going in December and driving from Oregon :)

I am pretty sure I called the anaheim desert inn and suites, is there another?
best western is where we are staying now, i was just calling around for better prices but i guess we are doing well at the BW

Camelot also has suites...I think around $210 or so.
thank you i called them i have a ressie with them to but right now they only have 1 king bed suite with a pull out sofa, so i have to ask my hubby if he is willing to share the bed with two kids, lol so it would be 4 in the bed and two on the sofa bed

Goodness, that sounds pretty squishy to me!

Did you ask about Max Occupancy for the room you reserved?
They may not allow 6 people in a room with 1 king and a sofa bed.
Best to check before you are checking in.

I didn't ask, but when i was speaking to the gentleman he was aware that i had a family of six and he said 3 can fit in the bed and 3 on the sofa bed :o but when i told my husband last night he said no he rather stay at the BW so I am going to cancel the ressie :(

We are a family of 4 and stayed at the Doubletree suites last Oct so we would have more space than a standard hotel room. Our room had 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa, so I suppose that would accommodate 6 people. We paid $159 a night, no breakfast included and we didn't have a car. It's 1 mile to DL so we would walk or take the ART.

Thank you, it can't hurt to call and ask ;)

The Tropicana (next door to the Best Western PPI) does as well. We have stayed in the regular rooms and really liked it. I am not sure what the occupancy is for the suites though.

they gave me a combo price, im guessing this is good, i hope someone can tell me
its 3 days in DL and 2 days in US includes park tickets free parking and wifi at the hotel and a family kids suite for $28xx.xx sooooooo?
unfort. their cancellation policy stinks :( so I couldn't hold it for now, because DH is not home from work
if i cancel the whole they before the trip I get charged 25.00.....
so now I have to call back before 630 NY time to get this woman back on the phone to help me.

I use TripAdvisor. You can select what is important to you (such as Suites). You can read reviews of the hotels, see pictures and there are links to the hotel websites.
