I am planning a trip the week before thanksgiving 14th - 20th. Are the Holiday decor up? Are there going to be any parades. I've read around that there was activity the week before thanksgiving in 09.

Does anyone know?

The decorations pretty much start going up when the Halloween ones are taken down. Not everything will be up at once though. If I recall correctly the Christmas tree on Paradise Pier was up on November 4.

The first day of the Christmas Parade was November 13 last year, so second Friday in November. I missed it by two days and was not happy. Before that Celebrate was on, I can't recall a break in schedule.

We were the 8th-13th this year and on the 13th the Christmas parade started, along with IASW holiday opening. It was beautiful and fun to see what new decor was added each day. I dont know about this year's schedule but I would think it would be all Christmasy for your trip.
