Hello!!
My family and I (Me, DH, DD12, DS11 & DS7) are planning our 1st trip to Disneyland California in July 2015. We have been to WDW about 8 times and been on the Disney Magic and Disney Fantasy. We are very excited to go to Disneyland but we need some pointers.

We will be driving from Fort Wort, Texas to Tucson, Arizona stopping for the night. Then driving from Arizona to Anaheim, California. We will be staying at the Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel and Water Park for about 6 nights as this is a $1,000 cheaper than Paradise Pier. Going to the parks 5 days and the last day going to LA. Then we will drive back home.

We plan on going to these places for meals.

Ralph Brennan"s Jazz Kitchen
Bengal BBQ
Cafe Orleans
Flo's V-8 Cafe
Goofy's Kitchen
Hungry Bear
River Belle Terrace
Pacific Wharf
Lucky Fortune Cookie
Naples
Trader Sam's
House of Blues

I also have a few questions like...

1: Where should we go once we get to the park??( The back , the front, tomorrow land, Grizzly Peak?)
2: What are some different rides that are not in WDW??
3: Where are good picture spots?
4: Are there any other places in Anaheim that we should check out??
5: What should we do about breakfast??

This going to be a 1st for all of us and we are super stoked!! We need all the tips we can get to have a wonderful trip. We need lots of advice.

Thanks in Advanced:goodvibes

Not sure I understand this question. You should go to all of each park.

If you are asking where to start, it really depends on whether you are rope drop folks or not. If so you should start one of your DL days in Fantasyland. And one of your DCA days in CarsLand.

2: What are some different rides that are not in WDW??

There are only five rides that are identical or nearly so - ST, TSMM, ITTBAB, LM and Soarin' Over CA.

Rides that are completely unique to DLR? There are actually a lot. Ones to be sure to ride (IMHO) are - at DL - Indiana Jones, Alice in Wonderland, StorybookLand Canal Boats (all at DL) and - at DCA - Radiator Springs Racers, California Screamin and Grizzly River Run.

3: Where are good picture spots?
CarsLand - day and night
Castle and Main Street of course
Grizzly River Run
Paradise Pier

4: Are there any other places in Anaheim that we should check out??

In all honesty, no.

Now if you expand outside of Anaheim then the answer is a very long list and depends on how many days you have.

In July the beach would seem a no-brainer.

5: What should we do about breakfast??

In July the parks open early - at 8AM - and 7AM for MM. Unless you want to burn precious morning park time on breakfast then focus on easy to get items like bagels and fruit for breakfast.

If it weren't so darned hot and if you have the time,,,,Stop at the Pima Air and Space Museum on the way home. Provided you like aircraft. :confused3
