Disneyland newbie?

We've been to WDW countless times, but never DL. How many days should I plan to do DL. It's DH, me, and DD (5); we typically spend 10 nights in WDW to get in all of our must dos; however, at Universal we were bored on day #3.
Looking at the map of DL, it looks similiar to Universal Orlando in layout. So, I'm curious how many days most of you plan to spend in the parks.

we just returned from our very first trip. we probably were not as efficient as we could have been. we also have two children ages 4 & 6. we were in both Disneyland and California Adventure for 3 days total. we thought it was enough time and were able to do everything we wanted to do. one more day would have been perfect but 3 was certainly enough.

We usually do 4-5 days if we can. In that amount of time, we are able to ride all of the rides we like and squeeze in our favorite shows.

I am a DLR noob as well and am doing 4 days, which from what I gathered most people recommend, I will be going in July though which is high season and I have specific headliner rides that I will not be going on since I am a whimp! I figure with 4 I won't feel as rushed and can do repeats if I want.

I would suggest 3 to 5 days. 3 for a slow period 5 for busy times. Remember all weekend Fri-Sun and busy.

By your statment comparing US to DL you need to reset your thinking.
