Anybody been? Was it hot? Crowded? Lots of American school kids still about? There are ridiculously good airfares available if we fly out Aug 31st, which is a week earlier than we were planning. The wedding is in Vegas onSept 6. We already have to take the kids out of school for two weeks, but if we go then, we'd be tempted to do three weeks, which might be a bit much (especially since DS2 is a private pre school that costs us a fortune!). Might be worth the trade off if weather and crowds are alright. Or I could just keep fingers and toes crossed that another great sale comes out for the following week...

September is a great time of year for DL! Weather is good ( can even get 30.0c and above) , mild evenings and the crowds are light ( most of the schools have gone back in the USA). Not sure about first week but it should have Halloween attractions up too which is a bonus.

We were there from the 20-25th August and then from the 14-16th sept it was busy really busy but strangely apart from cars land the wait times on the rides were not that long at all a lot of the rides were only 10 mins I would defintly go at that time again actually I would go any time of year:rotfl:

Yes it was hot it was hotter in Sept at DL than WDW we were quite shocked at how hot it still was.

They have their labour day long weekend early September (Mon 2nd) after that it settles down as most schools are then going back. We arrived 5th September for our first Disneyland trip and the crowds and weather were great. Friends of our were there a week earlier and it was really, really busy and very hot.

Thanks for that, I think that means we will stick with the original plan. If we went this way, we'd end up spending most of our time in the parks over the long weekend - not so fun. Thanks for the feedback :)
