Disneyland MNSSHP alternatives

hi. Thinking of going during Halloween time. But not sure we want todo the MNSSHP, as that would be another extra expense. so my questions are:
1) when is the MNSSHP? is it only on weekend (Fri & sat ?) and is it every weekend on October?
2) if you don't have a party tix, what time do you have to leave Disneyland?
3) DCA is not part of the MNSSHP is it? so then can we just hop over to DCA for the remainder for the day. is it usually crazy packed at that time?

The dates very they have some on weekends and some on mon or Tuesday nights. You leave about 5pm i think if I remember correctly. We had a blast 2 or 3 years ago. Dca is open but may be packed because of every one getting kicked out for the party. If you are there I would buy a ticket and go it is a lot of fun short lines, lots of candy, and adults can dress up too. It is one of the only times to see villain's we saw , the dr guy from frog princess, we saw the step mother and sisters from Cinderella, Melficent (my son and hubby fav bad guy) Jafar, Evil queen, finies and pherb, and lots of others

Disneyland's Mickey's Halloween Party (MHP) generally occurs on Tuesday and Friday nights, with occasional parties on other nights (Saturday is pretty much the only night when the chances of a party are very low). The dates have not yet been announced, so it's hard to say when the parties will be this year. The parties generally start in very late September and run through Halloween. Last year there were 13 parties and all but one or two sold out in advance.

The weekday parties (e.g., Tuesday) started at 6:00 pm and ran until 11:00 pm. The weekend parties (e.g., Friday) started at 7:00 pm and ran until midnight. Guests with party tickets were allowed to enter DL three hours before the party started.

Yes, if you have park hopper tickets you can go to DCA after DL closes to non-party guests. DCA closed around 8:00 pm on weekdays and 10:00 pm or 11:00 pm on the weekends.

It is an extra expense, but you can save a little by not using a park ticket that day. For instance, if you are going to the parks for 4 days, buy a 3-day park hopper instead and party tickets for the 4th day. You can enter the park at 3:00 PM (or was it 2:00?) with party tickets, so you could have a sleep-in/laundry/beach/pool kind of morning in the middle of your trip and go to the party that afternoon.

Historically, the party ticket lets you into Disneyland three hours before the start of the party. So on nights when the party starts at 6:00 pm, you can get in at 3:00 pm. On nights when the party starts at 7:00 pm, you can get in at 4:00 pm. The tickets have (historically) had the entrance time listed on them (when printed at home). Also, note that the party ticket is NOT a park hopper, so you can only enter Disneyland using it.
