Okay, a bit confused...There are two entrances-one for the swinging gondola and one for the stable gondola. I know the still one is wheelchair accessible, but is the swinger accessible. too? Not a transfer-ride in my chair...

Thanks!

From the Disneyland website, it sounds like both might be. Here's what it says:

Wheelchair Access: For swinging gondolas, enter through the standard queue. At the split, proceed to the left entrance. For non-swinging gondolas, enter through the exit.

But, Disney makes some things quite confusing. When it says
Guests must transfer from their Electric Convenience Vehicle to an available wheelchair in order to experience this attraction.
sometimes it means there is a wheelchair accessible ride car and users of ECVs need to transfer to a wheelchair because the car is wheelchair accessible, but not ECV accessible.
And, sometimes, it means that there is no wheelchair car, but the line is wheelchair accessible, not ECV accessible.

I will be interested in what people who have done it have to report!

Yep, definitely, both kinds are accessible (as of last summer). We've done both. So much fun!

Both of them are accessible. There is a seat that folds up that allows you to bring your chair in, and you can stay in the chair. We have done that before with my son.

We love this ride, but it is certainly frightening! More than you would think. When you're going up or going down, there is a point where the swinging gondolas feel like they're going to slide right off the track! It's not the swinging back and forth, it's that sliding motion that gets you! And, it's worse during the loading and unloading part, which lasts much longer than the actual ride.

But, we love it! My DS is a daredevil, and we never miss it!

Hope that helps!

I asked my daughter (who has ridden in both the swinging and the stable gondolas in her wheelchair), and she didn't recall it feeling jerky. The ride operator puts blocks behind the wheelchair wheels to keep it from sliding around.

I bet you're gonna love it!

As stated before, both the swinging and stable gondolas are accessible. I have only ridden the swinging gondola, and absolutely LOVE it. I always stay in my chair, and have never felt insecure in the ride. Just make sure that your brakes are locked and stable (so if you have air tires, make sure that your tires are inflated enough to securely lock the brakes without sliding around). I have D's Locks (hub lock brakes) so once my wheels are locked they are not moving ANYWHERE! The concept is that you flip a lever on one side of the chair that engages a piston on each side of the chair near the axle tube. Each wheel has a locking ring on it, so once the piston is engaged, it locks into that ring and won't let the chair roll until the lock lever is disengaged. What I love about these brakes (especially on rides at Disney) is that even if your tires go completely flat, you still have locking brakes!
Sorry I got a little off topic, but the point was remember to have your brakes adjusted and your tires inflated to make sure your chair will not roll around :)

I will say that the spot for wheelchairs seems rather small - it would likely have fit my wheelchair (though I transferred - never again! I missed the secure feeling in my seat), but may not fit a wider wheelchair.

That being said, I am a total chicken when it comes to heights and was terrified even in the stable ones. They could have strapped me in and wrapped me in bubble wrap and I am still going to feel insecure!

Same here. I took a good hard look at this attraction and knew it was not for me, lol. Guess I'm not a thrill-seeker ( otherwise translated as "I'm Chicken!)--Kathy
