Disneyland Meet May 3rd and 5th

Oh Mary Jo, I am so sad you guys didn't get to meet up. We had such a good visit last year, I want everyone to meet you  I hope the tree didn't fall on them!
Tia where are you?

So how was the Mummy Returns...as spooky as the previews seem?

Aloha,
Donna

<font face="Comic Sans MS"><font color=navy>Thanks, Donna. I love meeting fellow DISers, too. :) I remember that afternoon that we sat with you & Ohai, and Keith & Shivahn. Can you believe it's been a year already? wow!

The Mummy Returns was pretty loud, but the kids & I enjoyed it. They say they liked it better than the first, and they laughed at me because I kept jumping during the movie.

When we walked out, it was almost 7:30. The sky was still lit, the air was cooler, and you could smell the flowers. People were all around. Downtown Disney looked so nice. Now the kids want to go there everytime we see a movie. heh

Have you ever wondered what people's last names are....or have you ever wished you had someone's phone number....or have you ever wished you could be 2 places at 1 time....or have you ever missed something VERY IMPORTANT???

Well I have. Here I was...viciously shopping at World of Disney....looking for a new suitcase or duffle bag to haul home all of our Disney 'loot'....while I knew DH was heading to the hotel room with a screaming 3 y/o (who was over tired !!!) in tow. I knew I was cutting it close, but DH said that if I found a suitcase or duffle bag, he would pack while our DS took a nap and I could go to my DIS Meet! Sounds like a great plan, doesn't it???

Well, it was a great plan, except DH and I spent the whole trip never knowing what time it was (not really caring either  ) and having to constantly ask my mom for the time (which she got very tired of  )...well my mom and my DD went to Sea World on Sunday. ((do you see where this story is going yet?)) It just so happens that while I thought I was making 'good time' at the store and standing in line to pay for my goodies, I overheard another guest ask the CM at the counter what time it was..................My heart fell to the floor when I heard the CM say, "it's 3:15pm"

I thought as quickly as I could...How am I going to get back to Plaza Inn, like now!!! How can I call and let MaryJo know that I will be there ASAP? What the heck is MaryJo's last name (thinking I could look up your phone number...only to realize soon thereafter that you wouldn't be at that number if you were standing at Plaza Inn  )? WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?

Well I ran out of panic juices when the same CM gave me my total of $286.00 !!! !!! !!! At that point, I realized that I didn't have that much in cash and I didn't have my charge cards with me !!! !!! Again, WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?

I quickly remembered that 'charge it to your room doo-hicky' and yanked it from my wallet.....whew!!! :o

By this time it was 3:20pm or 3:30pm and I just dropped my head in disbelief and walked back to my hotel room. I was practically in tears. :( I tried to get onto DH's laptop to explain, but the kids had run the batttery low with their movies, so I couldn't access the web. :( :( :(

So long story short, I was not able to come to Plaza Inn on Sunday because I lost track of time. :( And I am so, so, so sorry that I wasn't able to meet you, MaryJo. I had my eyes on the lookout for Kelly's Tigger ears and/or 2 kids playing with Gameboys (LOL) all day on Saturday and Sunday. It would have been the icing on the cake if I could have met you and your kids. I am so sorry that you made the great effort to come to Disneyland, only to be 'stood up' by me. :( :( :( I know I owe you big time!!!!! I'm trying to figure out how to repay you. Any ideas? ;) I have a lump in my throat as I type this out.

Well I guess I better go unpack my new suitcase (which I look at with a heavy heart and bittersweetness LOL). I'll start posting once I get through my e-mails, phone messages, mail, bills, laundry , house chores, picking up the dogs, etc., etc., etc. :) Again, I'm sorry MaryJo. :(

Ohhh Tia, you sound so sad. Only solution that I can think of is that you and me and Mary Jo (and our families, of course ;) ) met here in Hawaii and plan for another meet in Disneyland! Okay?
Aloha,
Donna

I don't know about you MaryJo, but that definitely sounds like a favorable solution to me. :D

Thanks Donna. :)

I can't believe I went all the way to Disneyland (10 mins. from MaryJo) and missed her! :( :( :( I am having a hard time getting over this. My DH thinks I'm over-reacting a bit, but my mother was sincerely distraught for me! She also hasn't missed any opportunities to remind me that if I had a watch of my own, this would not have happened.

Hey Donna. Since Aloha airlines is flying directly to Orange County now, how about we meet in Hawaii, fly to Anaheim for a little Disneyland Fun and then fly (or drive) to Vegas for a little Gambling Fun??? :D :) :D :)

I'm exhausted just thinking about that....LOL....I guess I'll have to recoop from THIS trip first. ;)

Aloha Tia,
Sounds good to me, I even snared a $199 RT coupon for Aloha. (Still have a $99 one for LV too!). But only one, so poor Ohai will have to stay home. LOL

Hope somebody got you a Mickey Mouse watch to give you for Mother's Day. :D

(DH got me a new watch in WDW, it has 2001 on it with the characters and Tinkerbell on the second hand. Perfect rememberance of our trip!)

Donna

Please do not even think another sad thought! Things happen, and, boy, do I know that well. You just have another reason to come back to DL, maybe when Donna comes back, or when Judy comes back. We can scout around for some scenes for the Disneyland Picture Quiz.

I'm sorry you were stressed, Tia, and really understand. To think... you were in World of Disney as we walked past. If only we had thought to walk through the store instead of outside..... I do believe there'll be a next time. :)

The kids & I did end up having a very nice afternoon, and now my ds tells me he wants to always go to the movies at Downtown Disney... a mere 20-25 minute drive... heh.

Hugs, Tia... and to you, too, Donna... if we ever go to Hawaii...... :sunny:

LOL Donna...the funny thing about the 'Mickey watch' is that my mom DID buy one, but for my DD...who won't wear it because "it feels funny"

And thanks MaryJo. :) :(

I can't believe you walked by the store...ouch! That's how I felt when I read that a couple of other DIS'ers were staying at The DL Hotel the same time we were....ouch! Didn't see any lime green ribbons though, so perhaps they wanted to stay 'annonymous' ;)

I wonder what happened to Mal (Mallory) and her family. They must have had other things come up....easy to have happen while at Disney. :D :) :D :)

I did see minicarousel (Julie) on Saturday...she is a very pleasant person. :) I could sit and visit with her for hours...if time had allowed. :)

And did I mention earlier that I missed scrappinmom_2000 (Emily) by just a couple of minutes at Goofy's Kitchen??? I didn't have my glasses on so I didn't spot them so easily, but my DH saw her husband (Paul) and pointed them out to me. I wanted to finish my plate before I went to find them, but by then they were gone. :( Sorry Emily.

Okay MaryJo....next time Dan flies to CA for a "seminar" (yeah, right! ;) ), I'll have him swoop down and pick me up. :) :) :) Better yet, I wonder if Dan ever has "seminars" in Hawaii???? :p :p :p
