I have a DLR stay starting on Sept 18th, I just received a notification on my account that a magicband would be waiting at the resort when I check in. While I absolutely understand it could be an it glitch, or an error - this is exciting! I chose to be optimistic!

Honestly what seems most off about this is not that they would have MagicBands, but that they wouldn’t charge for them. And it definitely doesn’t seem right if they were like hey we have a MagicBand waiting for you, and by the way we charged your card on file $35 for it.

I am staying staying August 31st and haven’t received a similar email, but fingers crossed they will be there for your visit. I definitely think they make life a simpler in terms keeping track of tickets, room keys, etc.

Interesting. I’m staying at GCH 9/15-9/18 and haven’t received anything

It was like that when I stayed onsite at a WDW resort - we got the basic bands for free.

I am not exactly sure when WDW stopped giving them to you for free, but it has been sometime. Therefore, I would think if the precedent has already been set to charge for them, they would do the same at DL, but I guess you never know! It would be nice if they just gave them to you for free!

True - that was back in 2019. I’m hoping it wasn’t a glitch or IT weirdness

That would be amazing! We're going in October and are keeping our fingers crossed that MagicBands will be there by then.

I could see that email being a marketing gimmick "MagicBands are waiting at your hotel for you!!! *cost is $24.99 per person"

Not to be a bubble bursting but this is a known glitch. Even happened to me. You get a notification on the disneyland account that your magic band will be there or will be shipped. I even got a shipping number but nothing happens. It happened to David from fresh baked and I've seen it in Facebook groups.

What I do believe is that they are messing around with the system..

They stopped being free for WDW vacations at the start of 2021 (although I think some snuck through that had arrival dates at the very start of the year since they could technically order in 2020). So not free for roughly a year and a half now.

Uggggh! That’s what I was wondering, I know tech glitches can and do occur, sigh - I can always home, lol

Can you use magic bands at Disneyland? I’m going in a few weeks and will bring ours from WDW if they work at Disneyland.
Disney announced earlier this year that the MagicBand+ was coming to the Disneyland Resort later this year...that's pretty much all that's been released regarding it. Some scan points have appeared in the parks and some invididuals are getting the Bands waiting at check-in message, but nothing is officially announced beyond "later this year".
