Everybody does it. You know, listening to other conversations going on while you're waiting in line. And you have that funny thing you've overheard while taking a break and people watching. But without a doubt, parents with tired kids are the funniest to watch and listen to, especially after they all just spent a fun filled 12 hours together.

On our last Disneyland trip, we were sitting on a bench watching people leave the park around 11:00pm. This woman bent over and said something to her son, we couldn't hear what it was. But his reply to her was, "You think I'm crabby at 8 years old, wait till I get to be your age!"

*covers mouth* OMG! I would be biting my lip off if I were there! That kid's got guts to say such a thing to his mother! I've heard one kid who looked about 10 say as the family entered Sleeping Beauty Castle into Fantasyland, "I don't want to ride those rides! They're for kids!" Um, and what are you, a 30 year-old?

That is so funny!! I have a good one too. I was in the emporium on main street when this little 3 or 4 year old in a stroller wanted one of those retractable lighted sworards. His mom, very nicely, explained to him that she already bought him enough toys. He crossed his arms and started to pout and then shouted out "I HAVE A MEAN MOMMY!!!!" :rotfl: I wanted to crack up but I felt bad for the mom. She didnt take it too rough tho.

At WDW in Epcot and we are going in to the Seas I think. It was a while ago.. A little kid had puked and it was everywhere. The mom looked horrified. Not crowded and all but this kid in from of us yells.. "Look mom sick!" I almost died laughing.. untill my Ds almost 2 said look "mommy fishies.."

As in glodfish crackers in the puke.. well moving on....

Ahh.. This is from our last trip a week or so ago...
We were just getting into bed at the hotel room, after a realllly long day at the park.. (before we left the park we decided to ride Space Mtn... in Space Mtn, you know the big flash at the end (when they take your pic) happens)... All the lights were out in the room, and we were all about just asleep.. when all of a sudden My dad yells "SPACE MOUNTAIN!!!" and he flickers the light on and off real quick. It was hilarious. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

so now we have a catch phrase for the rest of our lives, "SPACE MOUNTAIN!!!"

That's hilarious. Funny how families end up with their own little catch phrases from seemingly random things. I have a bad habit of not closing the door to my older sister's Honda all the way (the thing's misaligned with the latch), so she never misses an opportunity to say "your door is ajar. Have a nice day" in perfect mimicry of the DLH elevator voice. She's 27 now and has done this for the last 11 years.

When I took my daughter for her surprise trip to Disneyland she couldnt sleep the night before. She fell asleep in the car on the way there (we had stayed at the Queen Mary the night before). She didnt wake up until I woke her up after parking at the hotel. She looked up at the sign on the hotel (now gone...so sad) and says..."Hey mom! This place is called the Disneyland Hotel! Is it like Disneyland?" I said..."Sweetie, it IS Disneyland! Happy Birthday!"

Later that day we were standing in line at Minnie's house. It was hot (we lived in Alaska then and were not handling the heat well.) Minnie has to go take a pie out of the oven. My dd has been low-key whining (heat and the lack of sleep the night before). But all of a sudden she just hollers out, "I hate this place!". All these people in line turned around to look at her...like who is this child who hates the happiest place on earth? I was trying not to laugh, but we went and rode the train and she slept for a while, and things were better after that.

I still her tease her about how much she "hated" Disneyland the first time we were there. :lmao:

Oh little children and lack of sleep. Such a great combo.
Two funny things we overheard at disney land.
We were walking out of adventureland and we heard a cute little girl say -Daddy I want to go on carrots of the pirabbean again. :lmao: Now its a family joke.

Also overheard on our way out of adventureland, late at night -Mommy I don't feel so good. Blaaaa. (then the sound of something wet hitting the pavement) Poor thing. Needless to say we beat a hasty retreat away from there.

Standing in line at Buzz Lightyear we were behind a cute lil girl and her family. The little girl tells her mom kinda quietly "Mommy, I like her tattoos. I want one just like hers." Mom says, (trying not to look at me) "No, you can't have one or ever will" and cute girl says "But, they're Disney mom!" I was trying not to laugh and make it too obvious that I was listening to the whole conversation. The lil girl was too cute!

My dd was 3 at the time and LOVED It's a Small Word. She somehow re-named it to After All and that is how our family knows it now. So we will be walking through the park and she will want to go to After All :cutie:

:rotfl: Thanks for these posts they are fantastic. Totally made my day after a long horrible one. I was in need of a really good laugh. This did it for me.

Brilliant.

This actually happened at WDW not DL but I thought it was so cute. I was waiting for the bus to Epcot. This very excited little boy was jumping around and I could tell it was the first day going to Epcot. He then walks over to me and very excitedly asks if I am going to "Apricot" too. It was so cute.

Yep...we love the comments!

My own kids, during a tired wait in line, looked up at me one trip and said "Mom, this is the happiest place on Earth because it sucks it all out of you!"...I said, "yep, that's how they make the magic, by sucking your happiness out at the front gate".

We still use that line if we're getting tired!

Our last trip to WDW, we heard a boy about 10 standing in line at EPCOT yelling at his parents, "Well, you MADE me come here (WDW), so it's all YOUR fault I'm not having fun!" Of course, we were there w/2 10 year old boys and said "if you ever say that, I'll make sure you're not having fun for a long, long time."

I was watching AFV and it shows a kid trying to smooch a kiss on Belle. It was funny because Belle was trying like fake kissing him. It was funny.

We weren't at one of the parks, but last week the Chippendale dancers were coming to town and a commercial was playing on the radio. My DD (12) was about to get out of the car and she heard "Chip and Dale are coming to town." She looked at me all excited and asked, "where, where??" I had to explain that it wasn't the Chip and Dale from Disney. She was so disappointed! Oh, if I could just bottle that innocence.

Oh how cute!!! When my youngest was about 4 years old, he kept asking me to ride "The tiny world" ride... Well, I thought that he was talking about the Storybook Canals ride (small houses etc...) Nope, he was talking about It's a Small World. He is 6 now and I love to ask him if he want's to ride The Tiny World ride.... He doesn't think it is at all funny, but I sure do...

When my DH and I did the holiday tour back in November we were given christmas ornaments that we had to have visible for the guide to see. I had nowhere to put mine so I slipped the string onto the arm of my sunglasses and then put my sunglasses on, so the ornament was hanging off my sunglasses. This little girl about 4, points at me to her mom and says "Mom that pretty girl put her picture on her face, why?" Her mom said because it's where I wanted to put it. The girl wasn't satisfied so she turns to me and says "You're not supposed to put it there, why did you do that?" I just smiled and said I had nowhere else to put it and then she frowned at me. But later I saw her holding the ornament up to her face as though it was hanging off her invisible sunglasses.
