Has anyone used them? Has anyone seen them?

I'm going down this weekend and I'd really love to take my dog with us... but i'm one of "those" mothers.

In all reality- I work at a vet and we laugh at "those" moms-- but we're all one!!

Does anyone have any reccomendations or good tips for using them? Or should I leave my "daughter" with a friend back home?

We’ve used the kennel several times for both our dogs (a Pug and Chihuahua). They’re pretty much big (or small) blue boxes with a caged front. Bring a bed or a blanket for your dog if you can so he/she’s comfy since it’s just hard plastic.

The CM working there cannot touch or take out your dog, so you would need to come see them every so often to take them out of the kennel and into the little garden next door so they can do their business. The only time the CM can open the kennel is when they feed them and they ask you when they can feed them.

It’s neat taking the dog on the tram. Everyone asks if they can pet them, lol, it’s fun. :)

It’s $10 I think? Or it might have gone up. Your doggie gets a cool certificate after you leave too! Hope that helps!!!

Oh yeah don't worry, my Mom is one of "those" Mom's too!!!!

I'm one of those Mom's and I refuse to take my furry kids to the DL "kennel". They are just crated, if the dog makes a mess in their crate it stays there until you get back. Nope, if I'm on vacation so are my babies, they are on vacation at their "spa", the kennel we use babies them more than we do! LOL

I would leave your dog with a friend or family member, I agree the kennel is just that a kennel! Several times when I left my dog at DL kennel it just stressed her out... The dogs are constantly barking and people are in and out all day, you do have to take your own dog out ( what a hassle since it is outside of the park... )

they do provide food though and a cute certificate at the end of each day.

IMO it sounds like it would be easier to leave them with an actual dogsitting service that can take them outside, let them play with other dogs, etc. There are some really nice ones around here (spa type ones, haha) so I imgaine there must be plenty to choose from in California! ;)

I've done a few pet sitting jobs lately.. I highly suggest you leave the dog at home with someone watching them because it'll be more comfortable for the dog in its own environment and able to go outside when the person pet sitting lets em. Normally kennels are more expensive than having someone pet sitting them. Dogs are much much more happier being at home & seeing you once you come back a lot more too!
