We will be arriving around 5pm on October 10th and we will be there till the 14th. We are bringing our dog with us since our friends live in apartments that do not allow pets and my inlaws are a bit on the older side and our dog is a Corgi who likes to stand directly next to you to be nosey. :rotfl:

I know the kennel does open 30 minutes before the park opens. So, basically, around 7:30am. During this week, how important will it be for us to be at the kennel at exactly 7:30 to ensure we get a kennel?

What would the odds be that we may not end up with a kennel spot during this week?

I know on Columbus Day, since we will be getting in around 5pm, I am not expecting a kennel that day, hoping for one, but not expecting.

I guess I am just nervous that we may end up not getting a spot for our dog. I've been reading that October is now a pretty busy month (we are doing the party on the 11th!) and just nervous that families will also be bringing their pets with them and we may be completely out of luck and then have tickets we won't even be able to use cause we have no place for our baby.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks!

I've never seen the kennel completely full, however, the larger kennels may be taken so you would need to take a smaller kennel.

I have used the kennel many times for my Lab and Boston Terrier. I have never seen the kennel full. I have seen the large dog runs get full but there are always plenty of small and medium sized cages available. I have arrived anywhere between 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM and have always gotten a spot for my dogs including arriving at 9:00 am on fourth of July. I have noticed that many people pick there dogs up in the afternoon and the kennel typically becomes less empty by evening so I don't think you will have an issue getting your dog in. Don't forget to bring his vaccine records and a blanket or bed for the kennel because they do not provide bedding. They will feed him and give him water but won't walk him, so make sure you stop by every few hours to let your dog out for potty. Have a great time!

Thank you for the help!

Oh yes, we have his backpack already packed with his blankets and a couple of rope toys. Plus, the night before, we will be packing his bed and his other toys and of course, his food and bowls.

I feel a lot better knowing that we shouldn't have a big issue. This is our first vacation in 6 years, so it's not only our first vacation in years, but also the first trip with our dog, who's 4. He's our baby.

At least it's good to know if we end up sleeping in a little later than planned, we shouldn't be out of luck to get him a spot.

Thanks again!
