I'm a longterm WDW vet but have only been to Disneyland once 15 years ago for one day. What are the crowds like the first weekend in Nov? We will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel in a regular room, what's that like? :woohoo:

Nov 6&7 are minimum days and 8-10 are kids are off in a large So. Oc. school district. I would expect the parks to be a bit busier than usual, although maybe not wall to wall packed. It's hard to say.

Kids are out of school nov. 8-10?? I knew about the 10th, but was unaware of the 8th and 9th. Bummer.

The DLH is one of my favorite hotels anywhere. All the rooms are very nice and oversized. The view in a standard might be of a parking lot but even some of the parking lot views (in the Marina Tower) can have views of the fireworks and parks. Its a really lovely hotel.

And just like WDW, if you get there early, first thing you should be fine regardless of crowds. Many people who visit DL are locals who have to drive those LA freeways to get to Disneyland. They don't always arrive early! Disneyland, unlike MK in WDW opens up the gates and Main Street a half hour early if the official park opening is 9:00 a.m or later. Also, as a onsite guest you will have access to Early Entry each day its offered (they never guarantee that they will continue this but as far as I know they still are). Be sure to ask them at check in what days EE is offered during your stay. Have a great trip!
