Disneyland in Nov/Dec

Hi guys! I’m hoping some of you are able to give your input here. If the world’s circumstances allow us to go , would the week BEFORE Thanksgiving or the week AFTER be best to visit Disneyland? Thanks in advance!

Great question, we have a trip in June that we are going to reschedule and would like to go either one of those two weeks too.

Hi! We are in the same boat (like many others I’m assuming). We were supposed to go June 22-26, but are trying to figure out the next best time. If Nov/Dec is still sketchy, we may be waiting till next Summer

If you wait until the week after Christmas, you will be there during the most crowded week of the year.

Sorry, don't know why I was thinking Christmas. The week after Thanksgiving could end up being the same weekend as Candlelight Processional. That could be either really nice for you if you want to view that, or really difficult because the front of Main St gets so crowded and jammed. It is extremely difficult to get in and out of the park during that event. If you are there for a full week, you probably won't care if you can't get into the park easily on those afternoons/evenings because you will have lots of other time to get through there. Also, maybe the monorail will be in easy in/easy out.

Personally, I really like the week after Thanksgiving. It's not too crowded at that point and everything is normally running. I do avoid Candlelight Processional days, though. I was stuck once in when trying to enter and then again when trying to exit and decided never again. I've seen others post that they get in early and stay away from Main street for the rest of the day, so that's an option.

Thank you so much for your advice! I actually didn’t even know Disneyland also had Candlelight Processional! That’s definitely good info to have! Edit: It looks like the Processional is usually the first weekend in Dec... so probably Dec 5th & 6th this year, so the week after Thanksgiving may actually still be ok to miss it.

If you’re able and willing to travel, anytime would be a good time to go. As I’ve written elsewhere, when DL reopens, it will host a much smaller crowd. The virus will still be a threat, which will many people from going, and many others will no longer afford to go.

We went the week after Thanksgiving a few years ago. We didn't attend on any weekend days, but on the M-F days. It was great--very low crowds. Weather was on the cooler side (60s most of the time during the day and nights got cooler) but we didn't have any rain.

We are going the week after thanksgiving as well! We will be pullin the kids out of school so we can enjoy a less crowded park on the week days. Still expecting that Friday and Saturday to be pretty crowded though. Hoping everything is mostly back to normal by then. Have already prepared the kids that we might have to cancel and move our trip to 2021, just hoping for the best, im afraid if i wait to long to pull the trigger air fair will keep going up and its currently very affordable between Seattle and Disney right now. Looks like most flights also offer no change fees, and we have until the end of November to cancel our hotel and Disney tickets, so we are going for it!

Yes! It seems like our situations are very similar! I hate having to pull the kids out of school, but we were all looking forward to our June trip so much. We will do everything we can to make sure they are both caught up with schoolwork. I think the lower crowds after Thanksgiving added with the Christmas decor will make the wait worth it!

I was thinking the same thing, we have gone during Christmas before and loved it, figured if we have to reschedule, might as well do it when the Christmas decorations are up and thought it would be awesome to have Thanksgiving Dinner at our Happy Place .

We went Dec 6 - 8 last year and found the crowds to be very light. We are planning for the same weekend this year.

The processional barely had an impact. It was funny seeing people so dressed up at Disneyland though.

Me too! Having that trip to look forward to means so much as a light at the end of the tunnel. We have to have hope and something to hold onto.
