We are looking into a trip to Southern California at the end of June 2010. We have never been to CA, so I was wondering howthe weather is that time of year. How are the crowds at DL? Is 3 days enough time to spend at DL?

Thanks for any advice!:)

You will have a great time visiting the DL park at Disneyland Resort (DLR).

Three days is considered the minimum. Four is better.

I think the June weather is ideal. Here is some past data: "Detailed Weather History for DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=23004158

Crowds are hard to predict in June but will likely be huge on days when SoCal APs are not blocked out because of the new World of Color show. See this post for more information on that:

Last summer we went for a week at the end of June. That week included the days just before Socal APs were blocked out and then some days after they were blocked out. We saw a huge drop in crowds after they were blocked. We decided this summer to go in July to avoid those "last minute" crowds. When we were there the weather was cool in the morning and hot later in the day. By the end of the trip though, the morning gloom was gone and it was nice all day.

I think the weather is often relative to where you are from. I live in NM so mid-80s is not to hot for me and sometimes I read people think it's hot. We went for 2.5 days last summer and I thought it was too short.

That's true. I love hot weather and when I say hot, I mean in the mid 90's. 80's are nice but I wouldn't call it hot. On the other hand, anything in the 60's is cold and below 60's is just ridiculously cold.

Hmm.....planned our June trip for June 13-18. Looks like we'll hit 2 grad nights and won't have MM. :headache:

one thing i don't see mentioned is that So. Cal often experiences the 'June Gloom' with hazy/overcast days. We went this year the first week of june and half the time was overcast with no sun, and the others started out hazy (almost looking like rain) that burned off mid-afternoon. While it's a bit disappointing not to have bright blue skies, the overcast did make for nice photos without glare or squinty eyes.

I think many of us think June gloom is a plus. It keeps days cooler and more often than not burns off mid-day.

I totally agree! The heat just drains the energy out of me so I like it to be on the cooler side while at DLR. Love the June gloom! :thumbsup2

oh yes--june gloom is a treat for me as well being a desert girl. I was so excited at the possibility of a sprinkle or real rain. But time and time again it seems that people going to "sunny California" get a bit disappointed in June (not so much an observation on the DIS boards, but in general). A worthy trade for 75 degree days:thumbsup2

Thanks for all of the great info! It is fun to start planning a trip! :)

The weather will be between 75-105 it is that unpredictable.

We went this past August and it was 75-80 each day and perfect!

Last year in June it was 100-105 each day and no June gloom.

Three years ago in June it was 80-85 and June gloom till 12:00 each morning.

The one thing you will not need is a umbrella because it does not rain in the summer.
