I need some info. A friend was warning me about going to Disneyland/DCA during the week of 6/10-6/15/2013, because there are Grad Nites on the 12,13,14th. But when I looked at those dates that happened this year and then the hours the park was open on those grad Nites, it was open until 11 or 12 those bites. So has anyone had that experience? Any help would be great.

I'm not too worried about it being at DCA this year because we never stay there really late. So has anyone had that experience? Any help would be great.

I was there the last week of May this year and we had 2 or 3 grad nights on our stay (I forget without looking it up) and the hours were not effected by grad nights with the new format. Unless they change formats again grad night is not an issue I would worry about. Yes it gets crowded in the late afternoons but I found the mornings to be uneffected. I didn't have any bad experiences with the grad nights and actually saw more middle school field trippers than grads.

But we had a 3 year old with us so we never stayed till closing. But we did see the first showing of F! And WOC in back to back nights and then went to the hotel.

I was there this year as well. Once DCA closed, the park got supper crowded so I usually left at that point. I believe the park closed any where from 9pm (Wednesday) to 11pm (Friday).

I agree with coaches24 mornings are always quieter.

I believe Grad Night is in DCA this year and they have a private WOC viewing, so I'm thinking that DCA will close early on grad nights? But they do get parkhoppers so they can be in either park all day long

Thanks Everyone for the info. We never stay late at DCA anyway and that's here they are from 10-3 am so that's fine.

My daughter just brought me her Grad night info for 2013. Her info says Ticket to Disneyland Grad Night 9am Friday May 24 - 3am Saturday May 25.

Then copied directly from Disneylandgo.com website:

6Smiles, our kids are missing each other by one night! My son is also graduating 2013, they are going on the 22-23....Traveling from Salinas, which on the Central Coast. I am trying to be a chaperone!! Lol!

That is so funny. I was just trying to figure out if there would be a way to become a chaperone on her trip. The only thing for me is that I am still in school myself until August.

It was funny when she asked me earlier if she could go I said yes and for some reason she looked shocked. Can't figure out why since she has been able to travel to Diego and Washington DC with school trips :confused3.

In 2011 and before grad nights resulted in DL closing early. Grads were admiited separately after DL was closed to the public. The downside was shorter park hours and often reduced night time entertainment (e.g., often no Fantasmic).

In 2012 Disney changed things. DL does not close early. So the hours are not shortened. However, grads get a special ticket that allows them to stay late but also come during regular hours. The downside now is not reduced hours but noticeably more crowded evenings along with a surge in teenagers mostly in the evenings but - since grads are allowed to come all day too - during the day. Nothing wrong with teenagers that a little gag over the mouth wouldn't help (I have three ;)) but the uptick in volume and language not appropriate for smaller children was reported by many during grad nights in 2012.

Hope that helps.

That does help Hydro! I told my hubby that we can do Legoland one of the grad days/nights and have our relaxed day another, so hopefully it won't affect our trip as much. I'm not shy about reminding teens about their language, so that shouldn't be a problem : ).

I think that grad nites will be over by 6/15/13. Does anyone agree? I checked the dates on DL.com but they only show May 2013 on the link I checked.:confused3

The problem is that most of these sites are only listing the grad nights that are not sold out. Here is a link that shows all the nights that grad nites are offered in 2013. http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/Events/grad-nights.html

My son graduates in 2015 and we were thinking of doing a Grad Nite trip with his Sr. class. What tour group are you using? Do you have any advice for me?:confused3 You can PM me if you would like.
Thanks!
