We're hoping to go to Disneyland Paris next May. Any recommendations for where to stay nearby other than Disney Hotels (they seem very high.....and I thought WDW was bad LOL)? Thanks for any suggestions or tips.

We usually stay at Campanile when we stay offsite. Very affordable, free transport, good breakfast, good wifi.
I've never gotten anything at their bar/diner area, but they have a good selection of food, pizza, sushi, etc. there is a petting zoo and some nice views at the back..

But for the Disney hotels, have you changed the country on the DLP website (top right corner)? The US website of DLP usually has the highest prices. You can get better deals if you change your country to a European countries,

Just a reminder onsite hotels at DLP include park passes in the price, unlike WDW

To add: DLP includes park tickets when booked directly at Disneyland Paris.
When you book via hotels.com/booking.com/Expedia.com you are 99% of the time booking a room only.

Thats correct, I just assumed they had looked to book direct. I've never had luck booking through Expedia etc as the hotels weren't always on there plus usually got better deals direct as i'm not an AP holder.

Is it feasible to stay in Paris and travel to Disneyland each day?

We stayed at the Cheyenne last month, and I can honestly say it is one of the worst hotels...er motels I have stayed at in a great long while. We only used the magic morning (or whatever they call it) on one of the two days, because there was simply not much benefit to an extra 30 minutes at DL given the current crowds (there is no early entry for Hollywood Studios). The hotel shuttles drop you off beside the train station, so you are still using the same entrance as everyone else. Most visitors early in the morning were coming from the other resorts, anyway, so there was no benefit in avoiding the main security checkpoint. Also, the only hotel that is closer to the parks than the RER station is the DL hotel, which is currently closed. The other hotels require a very long hike through Disney Village and beyond, or else a shuttle bus that really does not save any time over walking. If I do return, I will definitely be looking at hotels with easy access to the RER, rather than wasting time at another dreadful and horribly overpriced Disney hotel. The only hotel I would consider for a future visit would the be the Disneyland Hotel, but it would need to be good rate for me to consider it.

As a hotel guest arriving with the bus, you can take the security entrance to Disney Village and go around the AP holders who have access to EMH. Then you end up in the same flow of other hotel guests who decided to walk, and went through security in the village.
I would always suggest to walk if you can (10-20 minutes depending on which hotel) because before the bus is loaded and at the bus station it takes at least 10 minutes.
Me, I like my walk to-from Cheyenne.

EMH is officially 1 hour, in reality it is 1.5 hours. 8.30-9.30, but in the 9.30-10 time frame nothing special happens.

No EMH at the Studios is a Covid measure, I assume that when they can go back to full capacity they will bring that back.

We absolutely loved the hotels and apartments inn the town of Serris! It's just one stop on the train before Disney station. Its a little town about 10 min drive from Disney. If you google its history you will see it was built with intent to look like its old parisian. Meant to be a small provencial town feel similar to how disney built a small town in Orlando. Anyway the are several home away from home type hotels and airbnb apts. The town has an English as first language family owned movie theater with french subtitles at reasonable prices. It has quaint and diverse options for food and take away there's a great boulongerie for jambons and morning pastries, a coffee joint, liquor store etc and is adjacent to the Val D' Europe shopping mall with a huge Aubon grocery store. As well as designer outlets. On the other side of the mall there are many restaraunts and a french cafe. There is a free shuttle to Disney that drops you just outside of downtown disney next to parking structure and the movie theater, away from the peddlers at the bus and train station. Most hotels/villas there offer free shuttle and pick you up when you call.
Another option is about 15 min away near Disney golf course is another town where Marriott TS villas are. (I think town is called Marne something) That's a great place we ubered to Serris train station when we stayed the but there is a city bus outside the resort. The last time i was there in 2019 there were several new developments going up next to it. Im guessing the whole area will be another Orlando one day if Disney keeps expanding and improving now that they are involved again. In any case google the area! And like another person her said, use the european websites to book just change the language to understand it. I find out half way through my stay that if i joined their hotel member program i got good discounted rates even with conversion. Same with Disney tickets purchase on europe site or when there.

We always stayed at the "Holiday Inn - Marne-la-Vallee", it is at aprox. 40 minutes train ride from DLP, but it is located right in front of the station. It is also at aprox. 50 minutes from Paris, so it is like in the middle between Paris and DLP, which makes it good to do alternate days. Sadly, most of the hotels in that area, including this one, are currently closed with no ETA on opening... :(

DLP hotels are expensive, however, tickets are included for the parks (different to WDW, that tickes can cost the same or even more than the actual stay, depending on which hotel you decide). DLP hotels can be snached at good prices if you reserve in advance, but in my opinion only are worth it if you go with some of the packages, specially the "2-night/3-day" package. If you have a long stay, off-site is the way to go. Sometimes we have done 2-night/3-day at a DLP hotel and then we move to a hotel in Paris, so we enjoy the park for 3 days without having to endure long trips and then the city.
