Hello! We are planning a trip to Disneyland for Spring 2017. I want to stay at a Disneyland hotel and am thinking either a Disneyland hotel or a DVC rental at the hotel. Any idea how far in advance I will want to book to make sure I can get a room? We are going to try to go during an off season, either April or May.

Thanks!

Check out the prices for Dapper Days. They happen in the Spring and in the Fall. We are getting rooms at the GCH for April 30 to May 4, 2015, $254 for a Standard room, $479 for a Concierge room, and $184 for a room at Paradise Pier. You also get convention rates for admission tickets, $269 for a 5 day park hopper. Prices have gone up since we made our reservations. Not sure what the dates are for Spring 2017 Dapper Days.

I made the reservations for Spring 2016 on May 6, 2015. Best way to do it is call the convention phone number , instead of booking online. 714-520-5005

DVC members who wish to use points only from their home property VGC can make reservations at 11 months out from check in date BUT if using points from other DVC properties then reservation can made 7 months out. Now would be a good time to at least check on DVC rentals for Spring 2017 reservations.

So do you need to do anything special to take advantage of these deals? To prove you're "part of the convention" or something? I'm seeing DLH for $204 per night. Crazy!

Nope. When you call the convention number just tell them you want the convention rates for Dapper Days. There is no registration. You don`t even have to dress up if you don`t want to. When you make the room reservations tell them to add the admission tickets to the room. That way you get the convention rate for admission locked in , avoiding any price increases between now and your arrival.

Keep track of the other events going on so you don`t run into huge crowds. The Tinkerbell Marathon event starts the day after we leave on May 5,2016. I planned our trip before it . Dapper Day is Sunday , May 1, 2016. They offer the convention rates for the entire week before and the week after

I've been checking into going during this time also (we would move our April 17th trip back a couple of weeks to take advantage of these great hotel rates) - the restriction is that you need to have one of the main convention dates (Saturday or Sunday of Dapper Days) as a date you book. It won't let you book the 24th through the 27th for example. Also, the Dapper Days website does state that the rates are special for their event and they hope that people will book in good faith and dress up but there is no registration list or anyway to check to make sure people are dressing up. I think if we went during this time we'd dress up at least one day otherwise I'd feel wrong taking advantage of the rates for this convention.
