I looked at some of the stickies on this board and didn't see this information

I will be in DL for a conference in May - staying offsite
I want to add on a few days at one of the onsite hotels

Do the hotels have regular hair dryers or one of those vaccuum hose type that do absolutely nothing
Trying to pack light

Interesting, PP doesn't list hair dryers.

Yikes, I've never seen those. Just the small brown or tan ones that are usually mini versions of regular hair dryers. Hopefully someone who's stayed can shed some light.

If you have a light weight hair dryer bring it. We stayed at DLH back in Feb I didn't bring mine as we were lugging enough itmes with us. The blow dryer kept shutting off on me and taking about 5 minutes to turn back on! So if your not wanting to wait bring your own!

I agree that if you can, bring your own hair dryer. I've never had technical problems with the dryers there, but on my last visit there was a huge amount of long hair stuck inside the dryer that I had to clean out. :scared: Kind of gross. Anyway, the dryers are small, attached to the wall and have a coil cord (I hope that made sense).

Thanks everyone. One more question

Are the rooms equipped with wireless internet?
I know that they have high speed internet based on the room description on the website but it doesn't say anything about wireless.

Thanks

Wired H/S internet in room,

Not enough hair to bother with a hair dryer, seemed to work for better half though.

I can only answer for Paradise Pier. They have free wireless in their meeting spots (like their coffee shop), but the wireless signals don't recognize things like doors and ceilings, and so I got access to it, for free, from our 10th (or so) floor room.

I was able to access the wireless connection when we stayed at the Grand Californian. It might have been because our room was close to the access point but I don't know for sure!
