Disneyland Hotel

Hiya,

Well 10 weeks away from our first stay at the DLH.

Whilst I had a look around there last year I would like to hear your opinions on what you thought about staying there, and what we can do to make the best of our stay.

Any responses appreciated.

Haven't stayed there for a long time, but we will be staying at the DLH for 4 nights this Sunday. I can report back after that.

I stayed at DLH for the first time last year and I'm heading back tomorrow

My favourite things about the hotel are:

Location, Location, Location - you really couldn't be any closer to the parks. It's so easy to pop back to rest/swim or pick up/drop off bags. If EMHs are running you could pop into the park first thing in the morning and then head back to the hotel for a relaxing breakfast

Breakfast - there is a really good breakfast buffet set up in Inventions each morning, there's hot and cold food items, bacon, eggs, sausage, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, pastries etc etc and the pancakes are wonderful If you sit near one of the windows you can enjoy your feast whilst watching DLP 'wake up' and a view of the Castle

The Fantasia Bar - Now this place isn't cheap (to say the least) but it's a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a drink after a busy day in the parks. On some evenings there is a pianist playing Disney songs which creates a lovely atmosphere

The Pool/Sauna/Steam Room - It's a fairly small pool but everything is spotlessly clean and if you visit early in the day or just before it closes in the evening it's pretty quiet

The rooms - Nice robes and slippers to snuggle up in

Characters - They are often just wandering around the lobby and there is usually always someone out at Breakfast for a photo op

I think what is good, if you like hotel breaks you can pop back to and from the park easily. We would pop back down quickly to watch the parade and then go back to the hotel when my daughter couldn't do a full day in the park.

The hotel is lovely but not spectacular.

When I looked around the reception area last August it did remind me of a smaller version of the Grand Floridian.

I am sure the location is the main plus point, I did think the lobby had a touch of class and will ensure we make the most of the breakfast.

It was a special offer we booked, so hoping to make the most of it.

There are advantages probably specific to us in that if Joshua wants to relax in the room for a while then Julie can just pop over to Main Street and look around the shops - it's not always easy when he is with us.
Hopefully we can spend more time early evening there too, something we never really manage at WDW when Joshua winds down for bed time in an off site villa.

I have a question... Is it true than when booking a hotel on property you automatically get complimentary breakfast everyday? If so, does that include the hotel buffet?

I've head great things about the DLH buffet but it's my understanding that the complimentary breakfast one gets depends on the hotel one makes reservations for. So, if I were to book a room at say, a moderately priced Disney Hotel like Hotel Cheyenne, I wouldn't be able to pick the DLH buffet for my free daily breakfast. Is that right?

Each hotel has it's own buffet breakfast and it's included in the price of the room.

If you want to eat the buffet breakfast at the DLH you will have to pay for it. You can't be upgraded from your own hotels breakfast and just pay the difference

It's around 15€ adult and 6€ children and you can just turn up
