I was just wondering - out of curiousity as oh doesn't like DLH so we wont be staying there  - if you do stay there does that mean you don't have to go through bag check every morning? Also do you go in the same entrance as everyone else or is there an entrance straight into the park from the DLH?

Another thing I was wondering about if you leave the hotel to go to the village, how do you get back in? When we were there, they had barriers up before opening and at the end of the day (where bag check is).

Like I said, not that it matters to me, I was just curious.

I know castle club get their own lift which goes pretty much straight into the parks, but "ordinary" DLH guests aren't quite that lucky.

Not sure on the others though...

I was wondering this exact thing yesterday!!

You don't have to do bag check, just get to wait at the turnstiels for opening. But whay wold you want to go to the village before park opening anyway? None of the shops were open at that time on our previous trip....

The DLH has a door that exits very close to the turnstiles park entrance, so no need to go through bag check (this is also the door you can use if you want to visit the public areas of the DLH, even if you're not staying there).

The main entrance to the DLH is not seen at all when going from the Village/bus stations to the parks (we were on the VEA when it dropped a lucky couple off at the DLH, and so we saw the main entrance :lovestruc ).

Maybe there is one side gate at the main bag check area left open and manned for DLH guests to return from the Village through? Like the EMH gates, or CM only gate, at the extreme right of the bag check area when coming from the Village?

I think this is probably it as there are likely to be people returning to the hotel at all hours in the evening after park closes - perhaps even in teh middle of the night if they've been clubbing it at hurricanes, or seeing the night life in Paris...

I suppose you could even arrive for the first time before official opening and need to get to the hotel or want to nip out early to the shop at the station to collect supplies. Im assuming you show your hotel easy pass to get back in

We love staying at the DLH as you do not need to go through bag checks for either parks (showing how stupid the checks are as terrorists could simply just stay at the DLH). If you need to go the Village, there is a guard on during all DLP opening hours and they will unlock the gate and let you through.

No need to go to the village in the morning as the hotel has it's own character breakfasts every morning included in the price, and the shop used to just ring the Village to bring you your merchandise of choice. It's only during the day and night.

We would stay their in a heart beat, but it is overpriced.

:rotfl: :rotfl: Sorry I meant mainly after hours ie if you wanted to go for a meal or to the shops or hurricanes etc, how would you get back in?

davewasballoo said there's a guard during park hours that unlocks the gate, but what about after hours?

The bag check thing does seem a little daft though, what's the point of having a security check if the terrorists could simply check in to the DLH

Yeah, Jack said that.

But then I barely opened my bag at the checks, they jsut stand there and go 'Oui'.

Poor woman in a Burka had to unpack half her buggy though! And bet she was staying at the DLH.

Was full of loads of rich arabs when we went in!!

As I said, there is a security guard at the gate as long as things are open in the Village - so if you go to Hurricanes and wander back at 3am, there is a guard there to let you in once you show them the room key.

Sorry, misread that as when the parks were open

Yeah you're right. I posted on here last week about how my son (who's 4) opened his bag and told them "No, see, you have to look in there" when he was told to pass through without his bag even being checked :rotfl: Fair enough, he was only a kid, but they only checked my buggy once in the 6 days we were there.

We only go through bag check once when staying at the DLH, when you first arrive.

Coming back late from the village after park has closed, you just wave your pink ticket thing at the gate guard and they wave you through.

In usual park hours if you leave the parks for the village I assume you'd have to go through again, but as we never do this (go to village during the day) I wouldn't know!

Another Q. When staying at DLH, if we are put in the wing over the frontierland/WDS side, do we still have to go in/out the main entrance or is there one at the other side?

Where is this guard at bag check? He must have a fun job sitting there all night.

The West Wing has a seperate entrance. Have a look at this picture. The entrance is at the left were the Lady is. I don't have a better picture.

This is the entrance from the inside. To get into the hotel you need your room key. So only quests who are staying at the DLH can use this entrance. You can only use this entrance to get out of the hotel if you are a not DLH quest. To get in you need your room key.

Thanks Marcus! I did admire the little twirly bushes by that entrance and thought perhaps that was what it was!

I can't believe I have to wait 5 months to find out what my room is going to be like and where!! Eeeee.

I was admiring your clickmagique album earlier and getting excited. When you go for breakfast can you choose between inventions and CG or is it just luck of the draw?

Indeed there is. As you leave DLP park, the doors are on the right hand side (that is also where the pool is) - you simply use your room keys to open the doors. Very useful when exhausted.

They first open Inventions every morning. And when Inventions is full they start to fill the California Grill. So at this point you can't choose. But later when both restaurants are used you can aks for a special restaurant.
But as there are many quests every morining and the CM's have a lot of stress your chances to get a table at a special restaurant are not very high.
But it is always worth to ask. :thumbsup2
