You will love the DLH. We have stayed there three times. It is by far the most beautiful DLRP hotel.
We have never been at the Castle Club. But I hope we will also stay there one day. There are some topics here at the board with pictures of the Castle Club.

It's 2 years ago when we stayed in cc but it was lovely. If I could afford to I would stay there again.

When we were there my parents came to disney for a day visit. We thought it would be nice if we could all have afternoon tea in the cc lounge so we asked at the desk if it would be ok for my parents to go through with us. They said it would be fine and wasn't a problem. We were intending to pay for there drinks as they weren't even staying in the hotel but we didn't have to. I thought this was a nice touch.

We didn't get any presents but having said that we booked through a travel agent and not direct with disney I'm not sure if this makes any difference.

When we booked the cc room though we booked a cc standard room and asked them if we could just request a park view room. We weren't sure if we would get this but we did. So in my eyes this was my present.

We stayed in a CC room in November 2002 and we didn't get anything, no Champagne, flowers or present
Our trip was booked through a travel agent (Cresta) as well so i don't know if indeed not booking direct makes a difference.

I think it can make a difference if you book with Disney direct. Because if you use a travel agent they get 20-25% of the package price. But if you book with Disney direct they get 100% of the same package price. And this may be the reason why they can make presents to some guests. But I'm not sure.

I think that the only evening anyone gets a present will be Christmas eve.

AFAIK only repeat guests get room gifts and champers on arrival. This is a photo of one of our gifts. There are also lots of DLH/CC pics in this account including some of NYE at Inventions.

According to the brochure the CC and the suites get these passes.

We got VIP fastpasses in castle club last Christmas. We also got champagne, box of chocolates and sweet stockings but this was probably only because it was Christmas. We also got a weather forecast and chocolate coins each night at turn down which I would imagine is standard any time of the year.

You will have a fantastic time. It's great being able to pop back to the hotel for a free drink, snack and rest and then pop back down to the park.
