My family and I are seriously considering a trip in the spring staying at either the Disneyland Hotel or the Grand Californian. DH and myself are having a bit of an ummm, debate :scratchin about whether or not it's faster to walk from DLH via the GCH into DCA or if it's faster to go all the way through DTD. I've never been to either property other than a one time meal at Trader Sams. May I have your opinions please?

Also, if you aren't a guest at GCH can you still walk through the entrance at GRR?

With DD11, the DLH pools are more attractive ( I think ) and the GCH is $ 450.00 more so that plays a part as well since that is a cabana rental and some nice meals.

Thanks in advance guys!

It might be slightly faster to walk through the Grand Californian hotel entrance into DCA. You would end up at GRR and any Disney Hotel guests can walk though that DCA entrance. I believe after 11 am anyone can go through that entrance as well. We just got back from Disneyland yesterday and I found for early magic morning at DCA that it was faster to line up at DCA's main entrance to get in. The Grand Californian entrance is small and only two turnstills work and people are lined up pretty early there. We've stayed at the Grand Californian a few times and the convenience of being so close to DCA (especially when you are wet from riding GRR and want to get back to your room to change) can't be beat. My kids ( 10, 8) love the pools at Grand Californian. I've never stayed at the Disneyland Hotel but read they have an amazing pool complex as well.
