Disneyland Hotel Room Request help

based on some of the reviews I read on here and other places, I just called and changed my reservation to a Premium view from a standard view room for a December surprise trip. I am told that premium views can be pool or DTD/park. How do I request a DTD/park view room? I do not want a pool view room especially since there is a possibility that the construction might not be done yet in December.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get the best room? What are the views like from the premium rooms?

First you are going to want to ask for the Adventure tower (former Dreams tower) The Adventure tower rooms would be either facing the pool or DTD . Then you will want to request a DTD/Disneyland view upper floor. If you have already made the reservation you can call and have them put a note on your reservation. Then 1 month prior call again and make sure they have it noted. Then about a week before your visit call the Disneyland Hotel and make sure it has been noted, then once more while checking in. I know it sounds like a lot but I have had a request disappear. Also remember that even though you have a request noted, it is a request and they can't guarantee it.

We stayed in Frontier over D23 for a week and it was fantastic. We were on an upper floor facing the new pool slides. Frontier is the most "done", the lobby is beautiful and you can enter on either side of the building...... there is a small parking lot right next to it, or you can use the nearby PP lot (we usually got an outside spot, not in the parking garage).

We could see the DL fireworks every night from our BEDS!


Best bet is to ask for what rooms are available when you check in, that is what we did (I had reserved the premium view, requested park or DD view, it was not available except for a handicapped room that did not have the day bed, which we wanted).
