How many people can you have in a room, there are six of us. 4 adults and 2 small children? We cant afford two rooms if there is some kind of limit.

Their standard room limit is 5. If there are more than 5 in your group, you'll need a suite or two rooms. Two standard rooms are less expensive than a suite. From what I've heard, they are strict about the limits.

The good-neighbor places on Harbor have rooms for large groups, for a reasonable rate.

We just returned from a 5 night stay at the Desert Inn and Suites. We had a suite for 10. It was fine and we will stay there again.

There is a 5 person limit, by way of 2 queen beds and one convertible sofa that sleeps one short adult, or a child. They also have portacribs, and I believe if the child is under 3 they don't count, so you could get 6 in the room that way.

They have to be under 1 and you would have to book it over the phone (online system won't allow it). Some CMs will book it, and others may not. We were able to book 6 when our youngest was just under 1.

I have always thought 3, I did not know that other than you had to book by phone. The number of people has to with Anaheims fire code for the area. Thanks Shannon.

Disney World is under 3. We had 2 under 3 at the time so I thought they were giving me a "break", but every other person I've heard has gotten the 6th person in the room has said it was because 1 was under a year.

ETA: And don't get me started on the "fire code" excuse some hotels give. I stayed at Dolphin's Cove in a 1 bedroom that has a max occupancy of 4....it was bigger than 2 regular hotel rooms not counting the kitchen area. I don't think the limits should be based on bed space.

I agree with this!!! It seems to have nothing to do with size which is crazy. We have stayed in shoe boxes that sleep six and then turn around and stayed in huge suites that don't sleep more than 4?! Drives me a little crazy.

I would expect fire code to be based on the size and number of exits/exit stairwells rather than the size of the rooms. So yes, it makes sense that a hotel with small rooms could accommodate more people per room if they have more exits/outside corridors/stairwells etc than a different hotel with larger rooms but more restrictive escape routes.

Not an excuse its a reg.and I do not agree with it...my brother and family were asked to leave the Fairfield because they had to many in the room. Many cities are much the same way now.

Fire codes are very arbitrary. In Hawaii, you can only sleep 4 in a hotel room regardless of size--in some hotels, even if it's a suite. It has nothing to do with number of exits, square footage, bed space etc, but is a simple number based on a single booking of a room/suite. Obviously, this isn't the same with condos, but for hotels there, that's the rule.

I'm glad my family of 5 can legally book one room in DLR although I'm sure we're safer in our 2 rooms in Hawaii with the family split up :upsidedow

I agree with you, I have a family of 6 and is difficult at times to find something, and yes they are arbitrary just like the example you illustrated, all towns are different, as all states, all counties. I carry a firearm all the time, see what kind of rules are in place for those..its a mess.

If you cannot book two rooms at the Disney hotels, you might try Best Western Park Place Inn. They have a 'mini-suite' that has a half wall between the two double beds and the pull-out sofa. It gives you a bit more room.
